Does anyone at psa have an estimate how much steel case ammo the plant will be able to produce? Just wondering how much you’ll be able to fill in the Russian ammo gap. Also any plans for 6.5 Grendel?
Right now they are at approx 500k a week iirc, and they plan for 4 full lines (only 1 real line working right now using 2 slower temp machines). They havent said how much of each caliber they will produce, and that will probably solely be based on demand. If i had to guess, 9mm and 5.56 first and then moving to 300blk, 7.62, and steel in 2023 (throw some .45 in there also).
Closer to 1M per week.
They were at reduced capacity when we toured because they had just moved the other machine in and were still adjusting it.
Take full advantage of the brass cased. We were lucky enough to visit the factory a few weeks back and saw how they are made. You really cannot beat the value for new, brass ammo. By the time the steel line gets up and running, who knows where prices will be? Between inflation and supply shortages/increased prices, steel in 2023 may be higher than brass is today.
Buy with confidence. I know I have
“Toured”?
What is this thing, of which you speak? ![]()
Basically a walk through and behind the scenes.![]()
It’s massive.

Damn, I only reload 50 rounds a week on average…
So we’re looking at about 2 million rounds a week?
No; 1M/ wk
Well that’s enough for me - what are you guys all going to shoot?
Jamin just announced on another forum that 124Gr 9mm and 5.56 are ±30 days out. Woot!
5.56 ![]()
My inner snowflake is offended that we didn’t get the 124gr notice first. Every other part of me is excited to hear it’ll be a thing.
Is there a usage for 124gr 9mm that makes it more desirable than 115gr? Maybe the mechanics of it lets it feed better?
Its a heavier bullet. It affects the performance, ballistics/accuracy, energy and recoil management.
Any talk about making some 5.7? I know it has tight tolerances so it is a little pickier to make, but there is only 2 big suppliers as of now. And the good one (FN) is generally out of stock.
They will eventually because of The Rock.
I can’t tell much difference. But I’m a noob, plus I weigh 273, so I utilize a “Biomass Recoil Management System”.
