Ak 102 failure to feed and extract

Just got my AK 102 and I’m very disappointed with it. Fails to feed/fire every other round unless I smack the carrier forward and fails to extract every 2-3 rounds.

I’ve used AAC .223, Barnaul, lake city, black hills and IMI ammo and it’s all the same.

At this point I really would just like to return it and get a refund.

Very disappointed in this rifle.

I had every intention to SBR this pistol, but I can’t see spending 200 bucks on a turd

Customer Service is not on the forums so you need to call them if you want it serviced.

How many rounds have you gone through? I noticed something similar with my first two magazines running 55gr igman. After running some 62gr Remington it cleared up and ran another 75 rounds of the igman without issues. Might just need some time to wear in.

I’ve struggled through about 500 rounds of 55 grain, 62 grain, 75 grain, and 77 grain. It chokes on all of them

No kidding, sounds like it’s time for you to take advantage of that warranty. Sorry to hear about your issues.

Yeah, I’m sending it back after the holidays

So a little update, took mine to the outdoor range and it’s doing the same thing. Doesn’t give me hope.

Seems to be a problem with other 102s as well according to two other folks I’ve spoke with

What magazine were you using? I let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes picked it back up and it fed fine. Really odd behavior.

AC Unity and Beryl, it ran the best with the Beryl

Interesting, how many failures did you encounter with the Beryl mag? Today I was only using the AC unity mag since my others have not come in yet

3-4 failures with the beryl. The AC Unity was over 10

It sounds like our rifles need more gas, shouldn’t be too hard of a fix for PSA I’m just not looking forward to that wait time. I have some 5.45 magazines with conversion followers coming in the mail tomorrow, hopefully Wednesday I can take it to the range again and run some more through it. I seriously believe those AC unity mags are no good.

Sad day. I want a 102 real bad but i guess ill have to wait until the kinks are ironed out. Stupid Rob Ski…he said it was good to go. Ive seen one in action at Winter Motherland and the guy had to remove his muzzle device, which he said wasn’t factory but his is a factory option for some PSA 102s, to get it to work. He chalked it up to bleeding gas at muzzle device so he removed it and somehow it actually helped. When they run they are super fast.

You know as well as I do that YouTuber reviewers get hand picked rifles. Of course his tan flawless. And his is the rifle version, mine is the pistol.

with shorter ak systems like the 105, 102 and even the krink, they need to have a booster brake in order to ensure a propper blowback. the bulgy four piece flash hider that psa has fashioned theirs after(in form not function) is good for blowback too. of course if this problem is occuring with the factory booster installed then id hit em up on the warranty
