AK 105 twist

I just recently purchased a 105 with many of the upgrades, but just noticed there are two different barrel twists in the 105 line, upgraded ones have the slower twist, why the two different twists for 105 barrels?

Is one a significantly-longer barrel than the other? Say RPK vs. pistol?

Both are pistols

Im curious about keyholing with 69 grain. I have a few hundred rounds of wolf 69 grain and it keyholes at 10 yards.

@erikjm6 have you tried other ammo? Also, is it steel case Wolf?

Sorry im late with this response. I am new in this forum. So, i wasnt having an issue with a wide variety of 5.45 ammo or at least i didnt see any keyholing prior to shooting the 69 grain Wolf which keyholed at about 50% frequency at 15 yards. I did also have a random keyhole with what i thought was 59 grain red army standard but one of the 69 grains could have slipped in the mag. I even shot Hornaday Black with no issue. PSA wanted to have a look so i sent her in. Im expecting a barrel/bolt change or full replacement or nothing at all potentially. I just hope i have it back before 12/1/22 so i can take her to Winter Motherland. This firearm spent 1 month in warranty repair from 9/16-10/18 for a dust cover screw that they wouldnt just mail to me. I feel like they are making an effort to speed up the process for me this time which is nice. 69 grain wolf is steel non corrosive with red neck and primer sealant. Figured it would make hellashis defensive ammo…lol.

I imagine your Wolf ammo has Barnaul headstamps. My Barnaul stamped ammo had a smaller bullet diameter than my Tula stamped ammo. I don’t remember the diameters off the top of my head. The Barnaul stuff keyholes in my 105 also. I don’t believe it is a spec issue on PSA parts but the undersized projectiles in the Barnaul made ammo.
