Just got my 2nd gf3 cause I loved the first one so much. However, after about 100’rounds my trigger went dead. My range armorer said the wire ( I don’t know the name ) by the trigger walked off where it should be. I left it w him to fix because I don’t want to send it back just yet but I’m starting to regret it. Has anyone had this issue ? I’m new to the Ak world. Is this catastrophic? Once fixed can I still trust the rifle ? Any input is appreciated!
Unfortunately sometimes springs do break, but very rarely. You should be gtg once its changed.
Thanks for the input but i think I meant to say coil instead of spring , does that change ur input ?
I would need pics to see exactly what you are talking about.
I’m told it’s suppose to sit to the right but it walked off to the left
You should be fine. It probably wasn’t hooked real good. Those springs are captured under a lot of pressure.
Thank you very much ! Appreciate the knowledge
Have a few puncture marks from those hooks, lol.
I just recently bought a GF3 also and after 140rds I started to get light primer strikes and than I got a dead trigger. Trigger spring was completely out of spec. I filled a warranty claim and been waiting over a week to hear back. Very disappointed. Loved the gun till that happened.
Did one side of the spring come loose? Thats a 10 second fix.
Could you please elaborate? Don’t suppose you have a link to a video or ?
Just watch any youtube video showing an AK trigger spring removal/assembly and you’ll get the idea of all the functioning involved. I couldn’t find a short specific video showing the spring falling out of position.
The legs of the spring may have become uncaptured. All you need is needle nose pliers. Post a pic of the trigger area in the receiver and let us look at it.
Thank you both I really appreciate it
That rubber band trick is key… Believe me, I’ve gotten more than a couple mini-snakebites until I found that one and yes, they hurt and they’ll bleed more than you think because they go to the bottom.
Both did. I was able to fix it but shouldn’t of had to with only 140rds fired. Pretty alarming
I didn’t take a picture before I fixed it. I bent it back when I got home from the range because I did not have any pliers on me. I have had several AKs (century Arms, wasr, Riley defense) and never had a issue with a dead trigger.
Not alarming at all. It could have not just been seated fully. Those springs are under massive tension. Now if it keeps doing it, then you have an issue.
