New to AKs and to the AKV. From what I can find, all AK furniture fits the AKV, correct?
I’m specifically looking at the Magpul Zhukov furniture set on a 10.5” AKV pistol, but it looks like the handguard is too long to fit correctly. I think that’s why the ones online have the MOE furniture.
Will Zhukov fit or would I have to go with a MOE-Kov setup?
99%-ish sure GG has it right with the -U model. Otherwise, as far as fitment, most of Magpul’s AKM-compatible furniture should fit with minimal “encouragement” and end user adjustments.
Thanks for the info. It sent me in the right direction. From the looks of it, the Zhukov U is also too long. Here’s what I found on the Magpul website:
You also have some extra clearance from the muzzle, depending on what you use. But that wouldn’t be a cheap trial-n-error. Keep us posted with the progress. I was dead set on a Zhukov for my slr104fr but the MOE “placeholder” actually won me over. Still haven’t found a grip or handstop I prefer over the bare handguard on that rifle. Easily in my top 3 SHTF go-to. Would probably be #1 if 5.45 was more ubiquitous.
It does! I run a Rugged Obsidian 45 in K configuration. Plenty quiet for this platform with subsonic ammo.
I am on the search for a DeadAir Wolfman, I think that can will be perfect for the AK-V.
I like that Primary Arms prizim sight. I have one on my AK104 and one on my Ruger 10-22. Better than a red dot because I need to be able to focus it for my old eyesight…….I can’t do that with a red dot.
This is what one looks like with MoeKov furniture (MOE front and Zhukov stock). You will have to SBR form 1 if you want to use the stock, but it’s easy online and took me about 21 days to get back. Just remember to use the prefix AKV in front of your serial number that is on the bottom of the receiver. If you just use the numbers on the side, they will kick it back. The combination is excellent
I forget who makes them, but someone out there produces a tailhook brace end that replaces the butt on the zhukov. Never used it and don’t plan to, but may be worth a look.
