I used to see the frames at the stores occasionally, and when the admiral came out I thought it would last a while but it seems like it’s been discontinued. Is there any chance someone like me who’s late to the party could still end up with a PSA-branded 1911?
The Admiral was just a Rock Island (which are good guns, I own one,) so unless you’re super gung-ho about it being PSA-produced you can still go that route.
Welcome!!! Kinda sorta wondering also!

Not in the forseable future.
I have some ideas if PSA ever does. These would be a good money maker and give a great excuse to stock up on AAC 45 Auto ammo.
The very clean cut, single or double stack, Llhama IX-C 1911’s
They have shown a 2011 that they have shown at SHOT. The 1911 market is a little saturated now with cheaper gun, especially Tisas and RIA.
I don’t think the Admiral lineup sold that well. I would have liked to have had one, but they were all in the is-that-an-artillery-piece-in-your-pants-or-are-you-just-happy-to-see-me barrel lengths.
Had they offered one in the commander length and the ambi safety, I’d have bought one.
I was too late in the game to grab an Admiral. The Sabre11 is cool! It all comes down to price when it’s all said and done. The Sabre name tells me it’ll be a premium price for a premium gun.
The Admiral was just a Rock Island. They’re good guns, if you want one you can still easily get them.
Exactly
I remember them being Rock Islands with PSA badging on it. The badging alone was one reason I wanted it. I’ve seen the Rock Island pop up for sale around me from time to time but usually I’m throwing that cheddar around on something else like something shiny
