Dose is Frikken Schweet!
looks like I’ll be getting a 10mm
Do I really want to have to stock another caliber?
It’s only 1 more mm !! This just means I finally get the ria 1911 I’ve been pushing off … but from psa!!
Pi is a thing.
I’ve been looking for a 10mm 1911 and this one looks like it will fit the bill nicely. ![]()
Not in stock yet!
im still no fan of 10mm so i’ll probably end up grabbing a .45 tactical eventually… i do wonder how much these vary from the original 1911s that psa put out.
One also wonders what the relationship with Rock island is with PSA now. all im saying is over the years i’ve seen a pattern regarding new items appearing, and “partner” companies… but that is pure speculation.
Y’all are going to have to sell me on this partnership with Ria.
I’ve never owned a Ria and doubt I’ll buy one because it says Admiral and is being sold through PSA.
I’ve never bought a Ria because I found them to be overpriced for the product.
Just my .02
I’ll wait to be proven wrong ![]()
The only thing I know about RIA is that they bought the 1911 tooling from Colt. That doesn’t mean Colt’s making it, even if some try to make that case.
From what i understand we may find out more at the launch. RIA has been producing some great and affordable 1911s lately. In places that have “high capacity” mag bans, a 1911 is still gtg, as it was during the AWB of the Clinton era.
PSA has already produced 2 variations of the 1911. The original were a mix of SS and carbon steel frames, with all stainless slides. The second variation was serialized as “m1911” and were all carbon steel to my knowledge. At some point, a railed 1911 was also produced but never sold. It was all in the PSA Custom line and although i have seen pictures, have never seen one for sale or in person.
As a 1911 fanboi i have followed PSA’s 1911 development closely, having built 4 and worked on several others. These are all going with me tomorrow to be sand/bead blasted and hot blued.
"The only thing I know about RIA is that they bought the 1911 tooling from Colt. @PFunk "
I’m going to respectfully disagree ![]()
So if you already have a RIA 1911 you have this gun, correct?
All it did was put a new emblem on the slide…
So I’m guessing prices will be the same as RIA GI models being less than $500 while the others will be closer to $700+.
Hopefully we will get some polymer frames 1911s to really help with that affordable price range.
To my knowledge these are not just rebranding of an RIA. We will know more at launch.
Play with price filter. Makes it pretty clear.
I don’t care who’s name is on it Ria still uses cast carbon steel frames.
I was under the impression that PSA was going to ramp up the Custom line.
When is the launch suppose to happen? ![]()
Might find out more today. The frames are PSA serialized. Given the proclivity of RIA parts and their compatibility with previous PSA frames, i wonder if we are seeing a PSA forged frame with a RIA slide/barrel/parts kit. Just my personal speculation.
Things that make ya go hmmm…
Thot Ten Mil is Dahm Secksy, AYE!

(but so’s the Tac!)
