I did some digging, it looks like RIA doesn’t offer a 3 slot rail frame in that barrel length, hmmm.
By affordable what do you guess cost may be?
I’ve never had the desire to own a 1911 but I may now that it’s a PSA
$399-$499 for those 3! So basically I can afford a decent 1911 ! I love psa!!
Aye yo! At that price, I guess I need a 1911
Right!? I think I need 2! I mean I can’t pass up another 10mm! Gives me reason to stock up on ammo! But I don’t even own a .45 yet!
What am I missing here? Fancy grips on a RIA and it’s worth an extra $100 now?
No, I’m not a 1911 guy and I wont claim to know anything about them. But this is the way I see it from the outside looking in.
Will these have the PSA lifetime warranty? Or the RIA warranty? Heck, IDK what RIA offers as far as a warranty anyways. ![]()
Like this @Rufus
5 slot rail vs. 3 slot. I even went to RIA’s website to see what I could dig up.
My reading and comprehension skills are compromised ![]()
@Rufus
Yes
What’s the prices?
i’d have to disagree. if im not mistaken theyve been around since the 40’s or earlier and had bought the colt tooling and thus produced USGI 1911s as well they have been making quality 1911s for a very decent price before the Tisas group came around and started selling sub 400.00 1911s.
I have a RIA 1911 and it is good kit. dependable, solid shooter. mine is a standard usgi style with a threaded barrel and hasnt had an issue yet with it.
price is 399-499 roughly and im sure they will have PSA’s LIfetime warranty as everything does that has PSA’s name on them.
I will beg to differ with you. They do not own Colt tooling - not Ria, Ria USA or Armscor.
Not trying to argue with anyone, I’m just stating my opinion on what they have produced is not for me.
Prove to me the Admiral pistol is any better just because it’s coming from PSA and I’ll listen.
A cast frame is inferior to a forged frame seven days a week.
If the price point is the same I’m going to put my money on forged.
399-499-549 @andytahara
I believe I read that CZ bought colts tooling couple years back… could be way off …
This reminds me of when I was looking into getting a Hi-Power and looked at the Springfield SA-35. There were accusations that the slides and frames were made by TISAS and assembled here in the US. Springfield never really denied it.
So, I bought Girsan copy. I’ve been disappointed.
Yeah I’ve read and heard the same rumors of Tisas making SA-35 components @PFunk
IMHO I’m going to disagree with the rumors only because Springfield has had 1911s built by Imbel in Brazil (I love mine) and XDs built in Croatia.
And they identify the guns as so. I don’t see why the SA would have been any different.
Girsan, I have never owned anything made by them ![]()
