Id give the Tias a try for the price. I have a Springfield it was ok, My brothers sig scorpion kinda sucked.
I’m very happy with my Tisas. Thinking about adding another.
Dan Wesson Specialist in 10mm. Perfection IMO.
45 man 45
Though DW is on my list.
Ok they make a 45. I’ll add the Specialist to my list. Thanks
hmm… this is a harder question to answer because of the fact that you are saying i can buy ANY 1911 on the market… that gives me a HUGE amount of money to choose a gun with.
Unlike @GuitarGuy i dont like 10mm… like him however i like Dan Wesson enough i have a Wraith by them. Sig’s 1911s are nice enough, but i already know what they are like as well as Springfield as i’ve shot everything /have had everything almost they offer from the TRP down. Kimber, there are very few of them i would want too that i dont have already. Devil Dog Arms are nice too…
I’m stuck thinking of NightHawk, Les Baer, and many many more manufacturers…
I’d probably have to go with either the famous Springfield Custom Shop Professional (hand built for the FBI in their custom shop) … that is off the top of my head without having had time to research it. of course i’d get it in 45 ACP…
I’d really appreciate your input. Take your time.
ok, either like i said the Springfield custom shop Professional, OR
Nighthawk President with the following custom options : Second barrel, (threaded), ambidextrous safety, recon rail upgrade, checker front of trigger guard, of course in .45 acp both barrels, surfire x400 upgrade, suppressor height tritium night sights, and finally checker the rear of the sight.
now that nighhawk price for the base gun isnt cheap at some 4800 before you add my upgrades, your probably looking at s3k more at least.
the price of the professional is somewhere around 3-4000.00 total…
so that said, i’d go nighthawk. just because it would be a completely custom production 1911 customized for me… just how i want it… … so its pretty much like the 1911 that I built with @GuitarGuy out of the PSA stainless upper and lower with wilson parts. ![]()
What @GamecockOperator said with the addition of a custom holster mount for that.
Ok wow I uhm should have phrased my question more precisely.
How about off the shelf, ready available, current sku, no additions and cap it at 2K.
Well dayum, I guess I’ll have to stick with that mini-saddlebag on the left upper swing arm. I’ll have to think about it for a bit. I may or may not have have an ATI Titan that has run fine for years. Interestingly, they get little pub on the 1911 thread. Maybe I’ve just been lucky on getting decent tools on crappy platforms.
Colt M45a1 would be a contender. or perhaps or my Springfield TRP with rail and threaded barrel.
Ok I can work in that realm. Thanks
well its under 2k, it limits a lot of really great high end guns.
pretty much i look at this, sub 700.00 is Low end 1911s, 701.-2000.00 Mid grade … 2001.00 and up high end … and i only do it that way cause of my own budgeting. some of the 1911s pricing can get stupid high… which is what i would consider that nighthawk i mentioned before. generally i wont spend anything over 2k on a pistol, so most high end i dont get/have. i usually kick my 1911 pricing around 1000 - 1200 buck range for most guns.
I really really love the Triumph, push a couple buttons in the right sequence and it overrides the traction control , Ummm “Awake the Iron” mode I call it to steal a phrase. Pissed more than one “Karen” off when I’ve parked it in a blue tag spot. Neuropathy/spinal stenosis can be quite cumbersome at times but it doesn’t mean you have to stop living.
in the 1911 world that can be considered standard for some production pistols. 4k really isnt bad for them… which is why i dont have any of them myself. Lol
I’m looking at 1911’s now to add one to my collection, and have been for A WHILE, cause good one’s ain’t cheap, and with in the past year, prices have dropped significantly. Colt and Springfield have beautiful 5" in 45acp for just over n $1000 and a few under now . I’ve looked at a few Tisa’s for well under $1000, and they seem to have good reviews. For me personally, gonna be Colt, probably pay a little more for the name, but they’ve been makin 1911 for years, and I think they’re the best on the market, and the prices are affordable now.
I hate threads like this. They make me start shopping for a new toy.
But you don’t have a 1911 yet. Just remember what I said before…
1911’s are a whole new rabbit hole
.
