Will Gen 3 mags replace Gen 2 mags in a AR?
Welcome to the forum!
I’m assuming you’re talking about Magpul mags when you’re talking gen2 and gen3 - Here is an article describing their differences. There are some reasons to get the gen3, but a standard AR-15 seems to use either without any hitches. Going with gen3 probably eliminates future problems.
If you are asking if they will work…either Gen will work.
I use both generations of Pmags completely interchangeably. That’s pretty much all I use in my ARs and AR style weapons. I haven’t found any way to go wrong with them.
Still prefer gen 2
I’ve used both without any problems.
Either Pmag works great, but I prefer the GEN2 mags as I think they look better with more color options. Usually I buy Lancer mags or the steel or aluminum mags I see on sale, but Pmags are as good as any other AR magazine IMO.
