So I’m building a AR pistol I’m going all out and now I have to spend an another $200 bcs Biden is money hungry and now I have to get a tax stamp to make it a SBR. This is just plain ridiculous at this point most of the parts on it make it illegal so either I throw away most of what I have invested or cough up the extra $200. I just went from Eotech sights to vortex at this point
not a SBR if you use a pistol brace (as far as I know have not been AFTed) and don’t put it to your shoulder. Ridiculous how you hold it makes it legal or not.
So that’s the impression I always had. Reading the ATF worksheet 4999 Id be breaking all 1/2 the rules on the first page if I actually put mine together(still waiting on some parts)
Free men don’t ask for permission. Also, pistol brace rule hasn’t gone into affect and goes against nysrpa vs bruen. I’m expecting it to get tied up in the courts for a while.
The ruling against the EPA also helps. Basically, all non-elected government agencies do not have the power to make law/regulations. ATF/NFA we’re coming for you!

This brings up another question. If you put a vertical foregrip on an already registered SBR, do you need to fill out more ATF paperwork?
lol at least you have the possibility to own nfa items. Not all of us are so lucky. Id love to give away 200 to the feds and secure me a suppressor.

From what I understand is once it’s a SBR you can do what you want
aye… they can tax this d*ck… tyrants.
If your initial build is done with an Arm Brace….it’s a pistol.
If your using a “Stock” and a Barrel shorter than 16…it’s an SBR….and your obligation to NFA Tax.
That said……we are NOT the NFA police here this forum. We are all adults and this is a serious hobby. Know what your doing ….before you get in over your head.
My opinion is always “Pistol”. One day if things change and I have no alternative…I’ll SBR.
I and reluctant to SBR, because I travel a lot. If you travel with your SBR….you must notify AFT in advance of all travel……or else they get their feelings hurt….probably hurt yours too.
With pistol…. I am free to move without big brother over watching.
You might take your SBR to the Ice-Capades, or Disney World, or to a Broadway Play.

Last I heard the brace still makes it a pistol and that AFT had acknowledged that people would shoulder fire them and that is ok.

Nothing has changed regarding pistols. The recent EPA ruling IMO helps our cause when the ATF does do what its going too, and we know a lawsuit will be filed.
people who follow the “rules” just get off thinking they can do something someone else isn’t allowed. all “sensible gun laws” are an infringement on the constitution.
Because it’s registered as an SBR removes any NFA pistol restrictions

You left out the recent West Virginia v. EPA. The U.S. Supreme Court made it evident that regulatory agencies cannot make rules or rule changes or make law, only Congress can do that.
