Legality

I had a long discussion with a guy tonight about AR pistols. I showed him the 300 Blackout 8.5” kit I bought from PSA. He was thinking it qualified as an SBR. I showed him the ATF letter and explained the SBA3 brace. Ultimately I said PSA wouldn’t sell the kit ready to go on a stripped lower if it were Federally illegal.

As of now, braces are still legal. But we simply can’t trust the current administration or the AFT as to what the future holds. Keep in mind AR pistols existed before braces did. As long as you don’t have a vertical forgrip on your pistol, you don’t have an sbr.

Don’t worry about it. He’s wrong. If it’s less than 26” long, and doesn’t have a fore grip as already stated, it’s a pistol.

I have a 10.5" 300Blackout PSA upper on an Aero Precision pistol lower and last week bought a new PSA AK-V 9mm side folding brace pistol mostly because I’m worried the ATF will re-evaluate the “brace” stock definition and make them all SBRs. At least with the Aero Precision AR-15 pistol lower I can swap barrels on it but really wanted that AK-V sidefolder before they require an NFA stamp and 10-14 months of a wait.

Right about one thing, can’t trust this administration with anything!
