AR-V + Maxim RDBS

So, the wife got me a Maxim RDBS for my PSA AR-V for the birthday (yay being old..er…) and I cannot really find any instructions on how to install it. My understanding is just remove the weight from the bolt carrier group and remove the retaining pin in the buffer tube and it should just drop in and function. I have seen a few guys on here that have done it, as well as the new Sabre AR-V coming stock with it so I know it works on the platform, but there are no real manuals, videos, etc explaining the install. Thanks, and sorry in advance if this has been asked and asnwered elsewhere.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is this a solution for? Is it suppressed shooting?

it just reduces recoil, some say it does infact help with suppression but tbh i have not tried that

It’s to reduce felt recoil and make it more suppressor friendly. I honestly don’t think the recoil is bad on the AR-V but my wife and kids complain that it kicks harder than my my Saint in 556. I’m just wanting that MP5 recoil feel and have zero desire to buy an MP5, clone or otherwise, so this was the budget option I went with. Less recoil usually means more accuracy with rapid firing so I figured it be a win win, especially as it was under $180 for the buffer

exactly the goal is to make it feel more like your 556 since it’s a “carbine”

Just a quick follow up: I got it installed and put a little over 100 rounds through it during lunch today. Functions great, I can’t really tell a difference on the recoil from a force perspective but it definitely has a different recoil impulse now. My groupings at 15-25 yards while standing were pretty tight, knocked the bullseye out of one of the targets entirely, and as for the whole “its such a challenge to charge “ critique…ya’ll need to get out of your mama’s basement and do something, ANYTHING physical. Its barely harder than normal. Anywho, enjoying it and looking forwards to getting more time in with it.
