Barrel Nut/Muzzle Device Tools

What is the proper tooling for torquing a barrel nut or muzzle device?

Is the MagPul BEV Block sufficient, or is a reaction rod required? If the reaction rod is required, exactly what is the BEV block for?

Thank you.

EDIT—I want to buy as few quality tools to assemble and work on uppers and lowers. If the BEV block keeps me from buying the rod, and upper and lower blocks…

ive use a block several times it works fine…i also have a block just for the upper that works well

the reaction rod puts all the torque on the barrel itself, as opposed to the BEV its torquing the upper and lower receivers

hope that makes sense lol

The bev block also locks into the barrel lugs…but trust me when I say buy this instead. I sold my bev block and have never looked back. Plus this works with pretty much any upper…ar15, ar10, or turn the upper upside down and use the pic rail.
