Best Way to make my AK-V Have a folding brace

I recently bought a new PSA AK-V 9mm MOE ALG SBA3 Pistol. Very fun gun, but I hate the fixed SBA3 brace and regret not buying the folding triangle one.

Option #1 Is there a cheap way to make my SBA3 brace fold? The only option I see is the lawfolder adapter that you see on AR-15s, but that is pricey and bulky

Option #2 What would I need to buy exactly to remove this SBA3 fixed brace and buy a folding brace of any kind.

Welcome.
This might could work but I would have it done by a gunsmith.

There is a cheaper folder than the Law, i forget the name though. PSA makes a pic rail rear trunion adaptor that will replace your buffer tube one. Then you attach a triangle folder or another pic rail folding brace.

Welcome to the forums @Sino

yeah, i think your best bet would be to change the rear of it to a pic rail as guitarguy says, and then do a folder there like the triangle or any other folder that youd like to put on it… probably cheaper on the long run, although some of PSA’s AKs have a folding trunion built in to begin with…im not sure if your akv does have that though.

Do you have a link?

@GamecockOperator How would I tell if I do have one built in? I bought the most recent AK-V that has the SBA3 Fixed brace that I listed in the first post. There is a 4 year old video on Youtube that shows how to take it apart and add the puzzle piece, but the comments say that video is no longer valid for the more recently make AKV’s and that PSA should publish a new video.

Unfortunately no one at the PSA store knows anything about their guns or what’s needed to make the conversion happen either.

Unscrew the two screws of your current one. Screw this one in. Then choose a brace. Braces currently OOS.

you’d have one of these https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ak-side-folding-trunnion-w-parts.html
installed. .i doubt y ou do. the best bet is to do what GG said above. that’ll get you squared away and not cost ya an arm and a leg.

CNC Warrior makes an excellent brace that replaces the rear base and is metal.

Thanks! This worked!

Is there a way to make the SBA3 Brace fold now that I have the picantinny adapter on the back? Like a folding bar to replace the buffer tube and still use the actual brace? Or just better off now buying a picatinny folding brace in it’s entirety. Guess I could sell the SBA3 Fixed brace with buffer tube as well if people buy them
