BRN 180 + Jakl lower

will a BRN180 upper fit and operate on a Jakl lower, more importantly an Orlan lower?

Thank you

It may work but PSA can only guarantee compatibility with their own products. Although both the brn180 and jakl are buffer tubeless, they are not the same kind of upper.

The Olcan is solely for the Jakl, as the jakl uses some non standard parts (such as the bolt catch).

I have an early G1 BRN-180 lower, and my early G1 JAKL upper physically fits atop it… but there is a gap above the back of the BRN lower, above the stock pic-rail, where the JAKL upper receiver is about ~1/4”-taller, from memory.

I did not attempt to operate it, but a Handy MĂĄn could likely get everything to work. Maybe. Kinda.

The Reverse… I don’t know. I don’t have a BRN Upper to fit my to JAKL lower. Because Brownells killed them.

My original intention was a Retro AR-180, hence the reason I acquired the lower, not realizing Brownells was Never going to bring the BRN Retro Upper back. That’s at least partly on me, I suppose.

The G3 uppers Fit my G1 lower - but styling is absolutely not a match. And I don’t want to “settle”.

If anyone has/knows someone with a BRN-180 Retro upper they no-longer have a use for…
