Jakl vs. BRN-180

Looking forward to getting my hands on the Jakl to compare it to the BRN-180

Has this gun been compared to the hellpup out of Poland, and pioneer arms?

How do you like the BRN-180? Im seriously considering picking one up.

I wonder how the JAKL would do with a 3D printed lower. Seems like there’d be less stress considering no buffer tube.

Will there ever be a rifle version available?

Can’t wait for the JAKL, hope all the kinks have been worked out and PSA can handle production demands.

I’m wondering if the jakl upper will work on one of the dedicated BRN180 lowers Brownells sells.

since it is a standard ar15 lower (minus the buffer system ) i believe it will work without issue. Everythign i’ve read about the brn180 states its basically a standard ar 15 lower minus the buffer area so yes, i would be confident in saying it will work. that said, i am not a psa employee nor a developer of the JAKL so take that for what its worth.

Thats my thinking but “official” conformation is always nice.

oh i agree but i wonder if theve even tried that lower yet to see if it fits.

Any chance that you will make a knob with a gas shutoff setting line the new BRN-180SH?

I have more brn180 uppers than i have 180 lowers I am wondering if the brn180 uppers will fit on the jakl lowers … some one please check

Jakl lower is a “Standard” AR lower.

yeah i see that it just has that adapter, but it has those shoulders on it. its hard to say what the lines would look like , need to see one to know how the adapter looks on the 180 upper

Those are essentially trim pieces - not necessary to the operation of the firearm. All it “Needs” is the little buffer disc screwed into the plug.

Jakl and brn180 use the same lower but its not exactly “quick” to switch between the two because of that adapter. Just get a new lower. Lowers are so inexpensive these days.

Thats not necessarily true. The JAKL buffer adapter fits snug on the back of the upper receiver to creat a tight seal and to fill in the area where your charging handle would normally be. Without out the adapter, gas and possibly debris would blow directly into your face putting you at risk of serious injury.

Have you heard from anyone yet? I have the same question; more importantly an Olan lower.
