Been trying to troubleshoot a cycling problem with my YHM Phantom suppressor on The Rock. Works fine without the suppressor. Will not eject with it. PSA warranty/help said to try the hottest ammo I can get, but that they cannot guarantee all suppressors will run with The Rock. Bummer. I ran Federal, FN, and Speer with no success. The Fiocchi subsonic 62 grain is sick it is so silent, but it won’t eject the case either.
Had the same problem with my YHM Phantom not cycling. Did you ever get it to work. PSA suggested I get some hot ammo.
Is that a phantom 7.62?
Yeah that’s a big ■■■ can to try to cycle with 5.7, really doubt any subs will do it.
It looks like a rifle can…you can’t use that on a pistol. You need a pistol can that uses a booster (also called a neilson device).
Generally speaking 5.7 does not require boosters. I believe they’re not recommended with 5.7 on account of the possibility of a baffle strike. @Buffman-RANGE knows a lot more about that than I do though.
If you are using a .22 can that is rated for 5.7. I think there are a few 9mm cans that are also rated for 5.7 and due to their weight increase use the booster. I could be wrong though.
You should only use fixed barrel attachments for 5.7 guns. Using a booster can cause/add additional wear on the gun. I’m assuming based on the fact that the barrels don’t tilt, think of the booster like a slide hammer?
Yes
Yep, I contacted YHM and that’s what they said.
Yes, Unfortunately.
