Movie quiet with subsonics, and I was indoors.
A Nielsen device:
I realize this gun is super new - have mine on order.
But any other suppressors tried?
Curious to get the process started, but I’ve only seen one review on youtube so far - for the griffin micro
Get some snap caps and break in the trigger/internals IAW @GuitarGuy 's recommendations (100 dry fires min). I followed his advice and some lube voodoo I’ve learned over the years. I have no need to modify/upgrade any of the internals on mine. @California_Refugee did not report any break in on his trigger and interestingly reported a less than stellar trigger. Do your part and if it works for you like it did for me, you’ll have your favorite tool in short order.
I shot the Rock today with the Bowers Bitty, Silencerco Spectre II and Omega 9K. I did video, but the audio on my Insta360 Go2 camera just can’t capture the volume levels very well. The Bitty seems to reduce the blast by a few decibels, but nowhere near as well as the Spectre II, as expected. The Omega did not seem much quieter than the Spectre II and the gun would not cycle without the Nielsen device for it, which I did not bring to the range today. Just for yucks I tried the Cadiz Econo-can and it was quieter than the Spectre II, but the gun would not cycle due to the weight.

I used my 8.25" “solvent trap” for my 5.56 AR and had cycling issues. I have a video with the can on and you can see the issues of not enough back pressure to fully eject the spent round. Going to have to locate another can thats about 5" in length and try that. With the 8.25" my rock sounded like a .22. If you want to see the video give me contact info and i can send via text or email.
Sheesh, y’all make this too difficult… rubber band a $1 condom behind your front sight post and compare your db results…
It is possible that you need a Nielsen device (piston) for your 8.25" suppressor.
That’s awesome!! Who makes those sights?
Thank you!!
These iron sights:
They are absolute cowitness with the Holosun 507 ACSS Vulcan optic.
The PSA suppressor height night sights for the Dagger work well too. I have the 407K on a Rock though.
Thanks!!
Thanks! I haven’t tried the 407 yet.

I ordered one and it arrived a couple of days ago. Just need to make tome to get to the range and see which of the 2 springs works best with the 5.7 ammo. Thanks for the suggestion.
Eh? Different strength recoil springs?
How heavy is the can. Stay under 9-10oz and it should work just fine with supers. Also to note with the action type that the 5.7 guns use, do not use boosters in cans on them. The pistols are meant to be used with lightweight direct thread cans.
Have you gotten any non boosted cans to run well with subsonics without manually cycling? Specifically curious about vanguards subsonics.
I’m finding that with the Rock, it’s going to need it’s own special load, and I’m not sure if we’ll get cycling. Normally I load Ruger/FSN subs at 3.4gr and can get cycling with sub 6oz cans. With the Rock, I am almost up to 3.8gr and not getting the velocity I need, and therefore no cycling ![]()
I wonder if because of the slide and barrel weight. Not sure how they compare to the Ruger or the FN but the rock has that much bigger thicker barrel…
It’s likely the slide weight, and then the lack of velocity could be because of chamber differences or slight variations on how the cam delayed blowback is working.
