Dagger 22

it’s drastically different from a revolver… the ergonomics on a revolver are so perfect with no training most people will still hold it correctly… as for a glock you need training- then after lots of training, well if it’s on a glock thats all that feels “just right” anymore… like carbines

wow i didn’t think there was so much interest in it…nice.
As for the design of it, I have the utmost confidence in PSA that they won’t make it like the g44, which IMOP is an insult to Glock owners who were waiting for a .22 glock.
I know a couple of people who are trying to get rid of theirs and a couple of gun stores selling them at cost to get them out the door…
I personally own a TX22 that works flawlessly and I would put it up against the 44 any day.
I know PSA will make it a top “Quality gun” and not take shortcuts like glock did…I mean a Polymer slide…come on. There is a after-market aluminum slide for it but that is another $280.
I have faith in them…PSA that is…

To PSA… when making the Dagger 22 just be sure to not have that ridge on the feed ramp at the chamber (sig mosquito) and leave a little room in the chamber (this will help with different kinds of ammo) to tight will lead to issues…like several other gen1 series of .22 pistols…Just my input.

:rofl::rofl:

Never did like glocks, just don’t like the grip. Dagger is a way different story; MUCH better grip and I like the sandpaper texture. Don’t own any glocks but I’m up to three Daggers now and shoot them often. The only mods I made to them is tuned the triggers a little and installed a softer mag release spring. I trust them enough to carry them with confidence. :sunglasses:

that’s nice… are you giving us a 22lr pistol?

Nobody is going to believe me but the G44 I bought this year after getting tired of waiting for PSA runs fine with the limited types of ammo I have run though it. The M&P22 pistol is also good.

I wanted a g44, or tx22, but didn’t have my Hql at the time. Ended up doing a p80 g19 frame, oem Glock internals and advantage arms g19 kit. It was finicky for the first couple hundred rounds with bulk ammo. Was better with cci minimags but would still have a malfunction 50-100 rounds. Now after a couple thousand rounds, we’ve found it to be more reliable with aguila super extra plated, hp and plated rn. We love shooting 22 pistol!! I’d love a 22 dagger :sunglasses:

Can’t even get a dagger micro and you want them to produce a .22 (even more rare) version of the dagger?? Good luck with that.

Ideally they could produce them faster after doing the initial R&D. Frame would(or at least could) be the same. They’d need a new slide, barrel would be easier to deal with since it’s only shooting .22 and is fixed in place. Same as the slide. I know some hate the poiymer slides but the insides are still metal. Just like a Five-seveN.
If they made a optic cut version where the outer slide was polymer but the optic mounted direct to the metal bits, it would beat OEM Glock for sure. Then make us some higher cap mags like a TX22 has. And with the budget prices PSA sells at, it’d be a winner.
Of course typing it is a lot easier than actually doing it.

And by the way they are producing micro daggers, it’s just slower production right now combined with high demand. Much like Keltec products used to be. Now I see them everywhere cause no-one buys them.

Just wanted to bump this post. I’ve been looking a lot into 22 lately, either conversions or buying a dedicated pistol and rifle. I’m just sick of spending the equivalent of a monthly car payment on 9mm and 556 ammo lol. 22 would be great for live fire training and plinking. If PSA considers making a 22 or a 22 conversion for the dagger I would buy it in a heartbeat. So far I’m looking at the Keltec P17, Taurus TX22 or advantage arms conversion kit for the dagger but I’m still shopping.

Not a Glock trainer in looks but the TX22 trigger feels pretty similar, and it’s a reliable gun for me at least.
I’ve seen the Glock conversion kits but don’t like how thin the springy extractors get. Seems like one bad malfunction would break the thing trying to clear it. That said, I haven’t heard many issues out of them, while at the same time not hearing much about them in general.

I bought the G44 and have been happy with it.

I love my TX-22. Taurus had a good rebate going that gave me 3 more mags and a range bag. The sale was so wildly popular that they had to resource the bags!

Have both the TX 22 and P17. Both are great and fun to shoot, I have suppressed both with no issue and same for sub 22’s in both. The tx-22 and rock are so similar to each other going from one to the other is not noticeable for the most part(until you fire it). Recommend either one, both good values and mags are not expensive

Im suprised you had a bad experience with it.

My brother and I did a burndown test with my 44 and ran 1000 rounds of junk thunderbolt through it as fast as we could with the 2 included magazines without a single malfunction. We were both amazed.

It was so unbelieveably dirty when we were done.

Perhaps it was a one-off for us (my buddy’s gun, he and I firing it,) but it was a FTF machine. One experience is always just that though, doesn’t always mean it’s the norm.

Which one do you like better? I was kinda into the P17. Its cheaper and has more mags. You can get an optics cut slide and red dot for $200 which I like for a future option. But then I’m stuck on the TX22 because it has traditional controls as a striker fire pistol snd would be better for training. I just wish the full size non competition verson TX22 had an optics cut option. So far only the compact does and the competition version.
