Dagger vs Canik vs Glock

I hope it’s not wrong of me to ask this here, but here it goes (mods, if this is not allowed, please delete)…

I’m looking for another 9mm and was wondering what the forums opinion was about these three guns:

PSA Dagger
Canik TP9SF (full size)
Glock 17

I would rather have a full size gun since I have other carries, but if Daggers are better than the other two listed, I don’t have a problem buying another compact. I’m wanting to use this for home/auto defense. I already have a PSA AR pistol I keep close by the bed so probably put this in the truck. Also will use for target practice as well. Wanting to stay around $600 top end price.

I’m not sure it is fair to compare those three at all. The Dagger isn’t full sized compared to the other two. The Canik TP9sf has a superior trigger compared to the other two. Glock has 35 years of service in both military and police settings compared to the other two.

My suggestion is to not find the best gun, but find the best gun for you. You may not like the grip angle of the Glock. You may prefer the size of the Dagger. You may like the optics cut of the TP9. It really is a personal preference thing.

Best advice ever. I personally do not like Glocks. They just don’t feel good in my hand. Whatever the subtle difference is, my Dagger feels really good.
Not 1911 great, but really good

I’d go with SuperPredator’s advice. Personally I prefer my Dagger because it fits my hand and is a great shooter. Get what suits you best.

The only reason I have not yet purchased a Dagger is…… I want to hold one (and if possible shoot one!) prior to owning. I never sell firearms, only purchase or trade. But I don’t buy if I have not handled at least an example of it. (ARs excepted - Because Modularity)

If you don’t like the FEEL of a pistol in your hand, you won’t train with it, and be less likely to carry it. If you don’t carry it…. Well, it won’t be there if/when you NEED it.

I have been disappointed with a firearm in person, that I was enamored with prior to fondling in the past……

I agree, I loved the look of the HK45, Luckily I met a fellow shooter at an outdoor range and he allowed to shoot his. It felt actually too large (read must have larg hands) and I did not like the trigger. I was happy at the time staying with other 9mm and .45’s. Definitely try to handle it if not fire it before you buy. That said I have 2 Daggers and love them both. Both are built for supressor use and I have spare barrels for when I want to CC. Good Luck. I also have 4 Canik’s and they are also great. Glock is a secret money pit that I stay away from.

Good advice guys. Thanks!
