I know the feeling, dude. I’m currently renovating my apartment unit for my mother in law who is moving in. Every waking moment of free time is tied up in there. I’ve tired to let my wife know that it’s imperative that I get to the gun shop to buy an over under shotgun for bird season, but she won’t listen.
Easy solution, stop listening yourself one day and just go to the shop and shop.

Any woman that suggests buying an AK pistol is an angel in my book.
I can’t find a railed dust cover. With 70 MM eye relief I feel like I wouldn’t want it any further forward and I don’t have the rail on the side to clip one of the adapters to. I’ll talk to my LGS guy tomorrow about what I may want to consider going forward. Hopefully, I can dive down and find it quick in the morning.
@Rufus what kind of AK dust cover are you looking for?
Railed dust cover that would fit a CA AK63DS (Hungarian). It can get maddening trying to figure out parts that will fit an AK. I got the PSA railed front furniture and it worked fine. I have an EOTech 512 mounted up there and it’s been surprisingly reliable for holding zero. Got it hot enough that I let it cool before returning to the bag. 5X I’m pushing thermal expansion past reliable.
Have you tried Texas Weapon Systems?
Just found them! The goal is to return to deer hunting with it and I feel like I’m gonna have to duct tape my fingers not to pull the trigger on that deal.

Welcome to AKs. No cleaning required lol. It slices, dices, chops, minces, run it hot or cold, in the rain, in the sand, upside down or off hand, use it for a hammer, or a shovel, cover it in gravy and butter, it will still shoot like no other.
