I essentially took my Glock apart and wanted to see what it would look like with a threaded barrel in it for fun. My dumbass forgot to insert the recoil rod into the slide before i put the barrel back and now i have this…homage to my stupidity.
Essentially, i think the barrel is stuck behind the locking block and without the recoil rod it isn’t going no where.
I’ve tried hitting it with a rubber mallet. Didn’t work, at least not yet.
I’ve tried pulling down the take down tabs and pushing the barrel forward, nada.
I’m not against cutting the barrel if it means saving the frame and slide.
Its pink because it was a Glock 19 for $300 at the gun show. Bite me.
IMAO. i was afraid of holding it down cuz i thought it would reset and possibly break but i was wrong. And then i thought about it after i read your comment.
Thanks for the most obvious and useful help. appreciate it man.
as for it being pink, if it was painted that, not ceracoate, but paint, you m ay be able to use acetone to remove the paint without hurting the frame. of course, as with anything, if you choose to do this, try it on a area that is not really noticable or in a place that wouldnt bother you much if it doesnt work, or if it messes it up. just making sure all bases there are covered is why i state that.
Pink just makes a guy look more tan . Besides you never know, you could pull that out in a self defense situation and if they stop and laugh or ask you if that’s pink that’s a few seconds you can use to your advantage.
As far as pink guns go, I watched an Armed Attorneys YT video where they said a pink gun could keep you out of jail. Road rage guy lies, telling cops you pointed your gun at him. You tell the cops to ask him what was the color of the gun…dude will either choose black or silver.
You tell the officer you have a pink gun and avoid being arrested on a false brandishing charge.
For the record, I’m not rattle caning all of my guns pink🤣
Or, a little pink (or green, or any colour) stripe painted around the front end of the slide on an otherwise all-black carry, where it couldn’t be seen while holstered…
After watching that Armed Attorneys vid a couple weeks ago, I have been giving serious thought to doing that for my EDC.
I dunno, cops tie strings to all kinds of nonsense to make an arrest. “They said you drew your sidearm and threatened em” “how do you know I have a sidearm?” “they described it.” “how?” “They called it a gun, now I will disarm you for my own safety”
A cop can be reasonable, sometimes even Based, and easily be your friend. Cops as a general Rule, are absolutely NOT on the side of Freedom and Liberty.
Partly not entirely their fault - if you dealt with the dregs of society as often as they, you’d view every stranger you casually encountered with at least a modicum of suspicion.
of for sure, I’ve met good cops, but right now they’re hiring a lot of mediocre people to keep their numbers up in many places.
But even so , the law itself can be crazy, cops are supposed to uphold law and order and I’m pretty sure if they knew the law as well as they claim they’d probably have chosen to become lawyers…
and qualified immunity that’s a whole bag of raccoons on uppers, downers, aphrodisiacs and red wine…
I think all areas of endeavor for the most part follow a statistical curve of some sort. 20-70-10:
20 percent are great at what they do.
70 are just fine.
10 percent suck.
If you’re a lucky leader or choose and develop your people right. It’s the other way around regarding the 20 and 10 if not.
