I had some for breakfast for the first time in 15 years, at least. I used to enjoy it as a kiddo, but now, woah! I couldn’t stomach it lol.
Nope, growing up was pretty poor family so we ate it, generally fried up a little like bologna, I ate a lot of bologna also, but yeah it always had that little weird taste to it. Fried bologna sandwich with mustard was much better! ![]()
We ate it often. Fried was the best way.
Interesting! We didn’t have a lot of money either so we had the fried bologna option too! Spicy brown mustard is a good option in my opinion but that didn’t come later until adulthood. When I was a kiddo, it was ketchup and IT BETTER HAVE BEEN HUNT, not Heinz!
Actually, I am going to make one this week. I will post my creation and not even Gordon Ramsay himself will be able to challenge it.
I use to keep spam in our hoard.
They eat a lot of it in Hawaii.
Heck I even tried the spam sushi ![]()
Used to? What changed?
I’ve heard this actually!
Someone should generate a video of a Hawaiian guy doing the bubba gump scene.
”Spam Stew”
”Spam gumbo…”
”Fried spam…”
Love sushi but I don’t think I’d be able to do spam sushi.
Downsized housing.
Still have everything it’s just in storage and I’m not actively adding to at the moment.
Sounds just like Bubba! haha
Ding ding ding! Winner!
Normally fried with mustard no ketchup
!
Thanks now I’m hungry ![]()
“Who let those Vikings in here anyway?”
Yep we ate it often.
I’m not poor any more. IIRC it’s not cheap anymore either. Sometimes I get a craving for the bologna + mustard sandwich. Half way thru a sandwich I end up giving the dog the rest.
NJ’s mystery meat is Taylor Ham or Pork Roll. When I have it - my sodium levels rocket.
Thick cut bologna and mustard…..yes sir.![]()
Yeah my wife was from the Islands. They think spam is better than ham. I think it has its uses, like camping. Just throw the unopened can in the fire. When it explodes, it’s done.
Yep they sure do love the stuff ![]()
I need a demonstration so I can understand this culture better. ![]()
Man that is so cool LOL. I had no idea, I appreciate the history lesson. I feel like I should’ve known this considering the Marine thing ha. I’ll take care of it and haze myself, no worries.
Corned beef? Love it.
