I am new here getting a feel for the forum, the topics seem plentiful, and so far no rude or crude remarks.
Other than not really understanding how to flow through the site, I think this will be a great place to exchange knowledge.
Welcome to the forum @eurolynn !

Thanks y’all, always good to have a forum on subjects we enjoy. I do not do social media and thought I would sign up, and am very glad I did
So I can’t post a topic till I’ve sent 5 replies?
Yes. Its an anti spam feature to prevent bots from starting new threads.
ok, well… I’m wanting to make a thread about which PSA handguard I should choose. I’m going to grab an upper with a 20” CHF barrel, and I can’t decide between the 18” lightweight M-Lok handguard or the 15” lightweight M-Lok Handguard. They look pretty different, and the extra 3” of length costs a 100 extra dollars. Is the 18” handguard a good buy?
I’m planning on doing a lot of iron sights shooting if that helps. I understand that pressure on the handguard can shift the point of aim for my front sight if it’s only mounted on the handguard and not on the barrel.
Free float handgaurds have made things much better in terms of rail movement. Barrels naturally move when a gun is fired. Having a rail not attached to the barrel and locking up solid on the upper has corrected this. If you want to do irons, I like the “longer the better” mantra on sight picture.
If you’re solely an “irons” shooter, the front sight mounted to the barrel is the way to go. Even as rigid as an aluminium extrusion can be, you cannot prevent it moving in relation to the barrel as you apply even gentle pressure against it.
Welcome to the forums!! we’re glad you’re here..
yeah you cant post a new thread right away to ensure youre not a spam bot…
that said, i’ve always been one who liked the look of the longer hand guards. it looks better plus if your using flip up irons it give you a better sight picture becuase its a longer sight picture. thats my .02 anyways..
