Future of AK prices?

So with the ban on Russian ammo and the resultant rise in ammo prices of the available 7.62 x 39… thoughts on AK demand dropping and subsequent AK prices falling?

Ammo is not necessarily banned. They won’t be issuing new contracts, but all the ones in the place now will be honored and ammo will still be available. I doubt demand will drop much. Prices will probably be in line with whatever the demand does.

I am going to guess ak demand is going to go down unless some supplier steps up ammo manufacturing. That Being said I am no economist but I do love my AK’s! Just my .02c.

I have a feeling 7.62 will be ok. There are a few non-russia options out there.

5.45 will be hard to get and might sink 74 prices.

I do expect .223 AKs to gain a lot more market share.

I see Barnaul manufacturing branching its operations out to the Ukraine in the near future…

Yeah between their own brand and the Academy private label “Monarch” and who knows what else that’s too much money to be left on the table.

I wouldn’t be surprised if PSA sacks-up and gets into the ammo game.
With their own branding, there’s definitely $$ to be made if they can price competitively.

Luckily I already have an AK chambered 5.56. But my real love are my 7.62x39’s. I am stocking up while I can… but if & when the Ammo gets too expensive to shoot….only then will I reluctantly put my x39 in the safe…and put the 556 in service. But for now…. I am stocking up for the lean times that might come

Considering how there are tons of traditionally hard to find Palmetto State ak’s available right now On their website I would say the 762 market has definitely softened. I sure hope Palmetto State gets into the ammo game
