If you do that you are more than likely going to find a lot of crappy trailers, guns and people who are like you. With lots of beer. A lot of beer. ![]()
At my current age and demeanor, about the only time Iām amenable to meeting new people is if you show up with dogs, guns, or beer.
Iāve been looking at land in Montana and Wyoming.
Iām not going anywhere the air is colder than the beer.
You can see them coming from a very, very, very long way away. People will just lean-against Range Markers without knowing what they areā¦
Its Wednesday, and i have logged 50+ hours since Sunday. Havent had a day off since 2 Fridayās ago (Nov 3). Taking the rest of the day off. Have 1 client to visit tomorrow morning and then taking off the rest of the week.
Where I work I rarely do more than 41 or 42 a week. They have a weird rule if you volunteer for OT and youāre 2 minutes late they hit you with a tardy. Decide you canāt do it? Unexcused absense. Nah, not for me.
Nothing wrong with feeling that way at all, I feel the same exact way.
And I donāt like people.
But where Iām at itās not so bad on the Central Alabama Georgia line, a couple of hundred miles to Florida beaches.
@Don_Keedix
I lived my late teenage years into my late 20s very simply. Worked, lived alone, didnāt acquire many things, no debt, no real concerns. Came and went as I wanted, did what I wanted, never really had much to worry about.
Figured I āhad to grow upā so I did exactly that, got a more difficult job, bought a house, put a ton of weight and responsibilities on my plate, settled down in a relationship, andā¦everythingās consistently gotten worse since. I see friends that are married with families, donāt get to do anything they want ever, no hobbies, every day is scheduled and filled, stretched thin to the point they donāt have a choice but to continue, 5 hours a sleep a night if theyāre lucky, buried in debt, stress on top of stress, never a minute to stop and enjoy anythingā¦nope, not for me.
Iām not saying I think I can go back to being a 21 year old, but I can sell the property for a nice profit, move somewhere warm, find some work or start a business doing something that isnāt miserable/overly stressful, and seperate a bit from the rat race.
Oh, dang. That could be me. Iāve never used an outdoor range. Iād like to think Iāve seen enough pics and videos to avoid this error. But, Iād like to think a lot of things!
Take care buying a mobile home in S. Florida. It seems mobile home parks are closing at a rate of one per year. If youāre buying the land, or are moving to one of the smaller towns away from the high-density areas, you should be ok. As an example, this one, just down the road from my place. Fort Lauderdale mobile home park residents ordered to leave, prompting anger and concern - CBS Miami
Another I lived in some years back is still running, but the city gub there has been trying to close it for years (the land will be worth a mint, and so will the kickbacks).
Iām actually looking to move north. Right now, weāre looking at the Sebring area.
In that article theyāre offering roughly 6-14k and 6-months notice to get out. Pretty sure I could handle that.
I think the $ was for 15 Dec vacate.
Same point, really though. Itās really no different than a landlord saying you have to get out at the end of a lease. Sometimes thatās life and itās really not a huge devastating thing. Especially when itād be just me.
And I mean, not for nothing, just as unlucky as being told to vacate is, thereās an equal chance there could be an āunluckyā fire in the unit a couple days before that deadlineā¦
Donāt tell people that. Theyāll want to move down here. Jinx! Jinx! Jinx!
Move along please nothing to see here ![]()
Iām selling this house and moving there. I didnt know Nebraska doesnāt have trees. I guess they cut them all down to plant corn. See yaāll soon neighbors ![]()
You wouldnāt like it down here. Itās hot and muggy. It has mosquitoes hopped up on meth blood and Mountain Dew. We havenāt even started on Florida and Texas yet.
Then there are the snow birds talking about how great it is where they come from yet they donāt go back ![]()
It sucks up here in the Upstate SC. Too many manufacturing jobs with BMW, GE Energy, Ryobi, FN, ZF Transmissions, Michelin and many others. Horrible place to live, canāt figure out what it wantās to be, an hour from mountains and three hours from an ocean. Sucks I say, no place to live and try to raise a family. (Oh what, I did that.)
Yes sir we definitely need to get together and sling some lead.
It looks like you have a nice place to do that.
Iāll bring the steaks and a local sausage.
I bought some land south of Auburn close to Hwy 80. Iām not living on it yet but hope to be in the next 6 months or so. That would put me about a hour ish from you.
Iām glad you corrected the map. My father was at Benning in the mid 50ās.
Trees. Nebraska has like 3%
@California_Refugee
Cāmon down and bring the family.
But youāve been for warned by
