Glock 30 Gen 5

Wanted to talk about the Glock 30 I recently picked up. I love it.

Shot it for the first time last week and not a single feeding issue and i think I went through 200 rounds. The only issue? It’s with me, not the firearm.

You see, I got these little baby hands, BUT, when it comes to the Glock 30, I feel like it was designed for some Eastern European unit with banana fingers. We’re looking at you, Austria. It’s a touch clunky in my opinion, FOR ME personally.

Other than that, I much prefer it over the Glock 30SF that I shot.

Why?

Well, the grip does not have finger grooves and I much prefer that over having dedicated grooves. To me, sometimes they don’t play as well for me personally as something with dedicated indented finger grips. It just fit better for me.

Here are some photos, CLP’d up, ready to go for next run.

Just a little bigger than my Glock 26 G3

I’ve shot one, I liked it. I wanted something in a larger calibur. Nothing on 9s, love them. Just wanted something different this round.

What do you like about your glock 26? Or if you’ve mentioned it somewhere just link me ha

I’ve always carried 45 until I had to have carpal tunnel surgery and stepped down to 9mm

Bought it on a whim just for the compact size of it but then I bought some PSA Daggers and can use those mags in the 26.

oof… I’m sure I am due for that eventually. I worked in tech for a while so…keyboard warrior all day.

Is the G26 your primary carry? You know, the one you find yourself taking out more than any other gun.

No sir I prefer the compact Dagger - Glock 19

I actually probably should have guessed that considering where we are.

alright, I’ll join the club this week and report back. I think I’d like the FDE sniper cut one I saw earlier on the site. I’ll forget Black Friday and just grab one. Fineeee.

Lot’s of post in here about them.

Or you may prefer the full size Glock 17 equivalent

They are both Gen3s

I think it would be better with grooves and a large magazine pinky rest. That is a lot of bullet for a small gun. I think the Glock 29 is even worse since 10mm is top of the line recoil for semi handguns. I have actually thought about the 30 a few times but has no place for me really. I love my 45acp also probably my favorite round. Its really bulky but I guess you could conceal it but not easy. I can conceal my PPQ 45 just as easy and it is a Walther so a little better to me.

Great points. Honestly, the 45 may be my favorite round.

Concealing the G30.5 wasn’t too bad for me. I wore it under the shirt in a belly band carried with 3 magazines. It wasn’t that bad and hardly noticeable. Compared to the FN509c, it felt bulky for sure.

Yeah with that said I never owned one Manfred so sort of premature on my part but I have been to the shops and put them in the pocket and even tried behind the belt just a hefty gun in the end.

But then I have a ccw permit but I generally put them in my truck and rarely carry concealed. more like console or can get a holster for your console next to right leg.

So, you’re speaking from experience then. No issue.

I’m probably just complaining anyway with it being bulky. I do have smaller hands. But hey! I bet some folks that have large fingers can’t pull the trigger as goooood as I cannnnnnn!

Miss the days of being able to tote my 1911s

I’ll also agree that 45 has always been my favorite round BUT these little 9s are growing on me the older and weaker I get.

Don’t laugh y’all will be there one day to

On a serious note I seen a G48 for 350 bucks and bass pro and it was used but practically new, anyway it was about as thick as a good cigar maybe. I liked that little guy, probably have a snap to it shooting. They are basically full size though.

I would probably like that.

Going to look at them now.

Yep basically full size like a 10 round G17. They are single stack though, but if I miss with 10 rounds hopefully have another magazine.
