What is the length of the H &R XM177E2 flash hider? Already thinking of a future build.
What length barrel is needed with the XM177E2 flash hider and grenade ring, if the flash hider and ring is pin and welded to prevent a SBR designation by ATF?
@Waffenbauer can give you the specifics. The complete rifle version is not a true e2 because it has a barrel over 12" (e2 was 11.5") with a p/w 4" flash hider.
The stand alone upper is not p/w and is a pistol/SBR upper.

So the XM117E2 flash hider is 4 inches long?
I used a TNTE government profile 11.5" barrel with a 5.5" moderator pinned and welded to build my XM177E2 clone. H&R’s barrel is 11.5" long as well and since the overall length is 16" their moderator and grenade ring are 5.5" as well.

I think that is correct. Remember for measuring though 1/4" to 1/2" overlaps between barrel and muzzle device due to the threaded section.
