Haga Defense and A3 Tactical collabing new ACR-like stock

Has anyone else seen these yet? They’ve put up the store pages recently as a placeholder, the stocks aren’t available yet to purchase. But you can sign up for a notification for when they get released.

A3 Tactical and Haga Defense are collaborating to make an ACR style stock much like the F5 stock. Biggest difference is their HDA3 stock will be polymer with an aluminum skeleton on the inside. So it should be much more rigid than the F5.

Price seems a bit steep as it stands. No idea if that’ll change though once they get them out. I’m definitely intrigued by it. I’d want the FDE one to put on my Jakl.

This is the first i’ve seen or heard of them. they look pretty good. I hope they offer them in all of the colors the jakl is offered in as well. If they are more rigid than the F5 i can see the F5 going away especially if they can get the price down to a more competitive level, i.e. less than or equal to the existing F5 stocks.

Currently, it looks like they’re just planning on black and FDE as colors, both stock and brace versions. But they should definitely also consider ODG for the folks that have ODG Jakls.

Current pricing on them, is only a bit more expensive than getting an F5 stock straight from F5 Manufacturing. But I wouldnt complain if it came down to a more competitive price point.

I might still be an early adopter even if it stays at that price upon release. Love the aesthetics of the F5, which this mimics. It’s kinda the reason i went with the F5 despite its drawbacks over the B&T.

I don’t know how F5 is still around anyway. Been 2.5 months since I ordered a stock from them. No word. I was really hoping it would work out because these style stocks are awesome.

yeah i’d definitely want an odg, and a grey as both colors are very popular in the jakl lineup.

I’ve always thought the F5 stocks were severely overpriced for what they are. if they had better internal bracing and were more solid maybe i could see it, (not saying that the F5 stock is trash, just saying it flexes some) F5 is definitely proud of that stock and sells it at an utmost premium. that is for sure, and they generally will not negotiate down in price regardless of volume of purchased which are just a few reasons i’d like to see this stock price come down a bit, if not a good bit.

cool about being an early adaptor. if you do, i wish you luck and wait for your reviews here patiently. I also agree with you about the f5 aesthetics completely.

well they do have a lot of stocks being bought by PSA for the Jakl so im sure that helps in keeping them around for sure. As for the wait on the part, you’d of probably done better by buying the PSA build kit with the F5 stock in it and that way you’d be able to build yourself another lower with the parts kit that is included in the build kit with the stock.

Not a huge fan of the F5. The riser seems useless if you have to extend the stock out far enough. Doesnt really lock when its folded either, just flops around. None of that is a huge deal just annoying.

Aw man, now I kinda feel obligated to get one when they finally get released just to share about it here, lol. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think that’s sort of why at the current estimated price it doesn’t seem unreasonable to me compared to the F5. It should definitely have more rigidity and less flex with aluminum as part of its construction. Plus there are thought out features on it such as the button lock on the cheek riser.
Of course, it also kinda helps that PSA cuts you a heck of a deal on them if you get a lower build kit. F5 charges, last i checked, 300 for a Jakl stock straight from them. While PSA will only charge you 260 for the stock, and probably anywhere between 50 and 100 dollars of small parts.

Well, the HDA3 stock will have a metal hinge, and i believe they said it will lock in place when folded.
But that’s a fair criticism of the F5. Might be why B&T went with the cheek riser style they did on their stock PSA is now selling for the Jakl.

I’ll definitely do something like that when I get around to the jakl (never dealing with F5 again). This one was for a foxtrot mike. I’m loving these jakls more and more. Really want one.

Found another photo of the HDA3 from Haga Defense’s instagram. Showing off the stock and brace on Jakls.

Haven’t seen anything from A3 Tactical’s side other than the product photos in the op. Since there are a few minor differences between the two going off the product images.

The brace is a nice option.

I just noticed, looking at the pages they have up for these, that they’re saying the stocks/braces will be available in black, fde, odg, and grey for colors.

that is awesome that they are producing them in all the colors that the jakl is currently produced in.
i think it is going to be a nice viable alternative to the f5. i like the look of the stock better than the brace on the hagas, but that is to be expected with the thin brace part being just that a brace.

The stocks/braces will be available in black and FDE at launch. ODG and gray will come later. Other colors may be possible but these are what’s planned currently.

I see some questioning of the pricing. It seems that 99% of you can agree that the currently available option is complete garbage. This will be priced similar or slightly higher than that but have features and materials that are so far superior that you can’t even really compare the two. I think we are coming out pretty good on pricing given that. Plus these will be made in the USA. The other is not.

They are nice - but do not work on many Sig - do to charging handle -
so buyer beware - do NOT lie flush sadly

Thanks for the info. We look forward to seeing how it all turns out. The F5 lacks some things but is still a good stock.

Dan, first welcome to our forums, and we appreciate you being here, and welcome Haga’s presence on our forums… It is good to know the plans for the colors at launch and that others will come later. It also sounds besides the top 4, that there may be the options for additional colors, and that is great news I for one think a jakl in vietnam tiger stripe would be awesome as would the stock to go with it.

when you say the current option, you mean the f5? or the triangle braces? im assuming you mean the f5 stocks. I personally feel the f5 stocks are way overpriced, and that the owner is just out to make a buck no matter what the cost is. I hope that Haga takes into account the fact that the f5 is inferior build quality and as such will adjust its pricing accordingly If it were to come in around say 200, it would blow itself off the shelves as everyone would needd and want one! The fact they are made in the USA is awesome and does in my opinion make the higher price a bit easier to stomach.

thanks again for posting up and joining our forums. we hope y ou’ll stick around and become a very active member here. thank you.

I have a question and I hope that you’ll come back and answer it, if you can.

In your photo of the HDA3 on the Jakl, there are QD cups on the sides of the adapter piece itself. This is also reflected in your stock photo that I put in the OP.
However, the stock photo on A3’s side does not have the QD cups on the side of their adapter, and instead it looks like they put a QD cup at the bottom of the adapter. Like so:

I’m curious if this is going to be a difference between ordering the stock from Haga Defense and A3 Tactical. Because I have to be honest, I like the way it looks more without the QD cups on the sides of the adapter.

For many of the variants HD and A3 will offer different adapter designs. You will have multiple options.

That sounds awesome. Options are always a great thing for the consumer.
Thanks for answering!

Very excited to see this, Dan. I was really disappointed when I saw the message on your website that Magpul had discontinued the ACR stock, really hoping this one works out well.
