Handguard replacement help

Will the # PSA 13" Lightweight Hex Rail Assembly (51655158670) fit my older PSA 16" Mid-Length 5.56 NATO 1:7 Nitride (5165448422).
It is ascetic, but I really do not like the look of the handguard that came with the upper.

Yes

You may have to change the barrel nut. Im not sure of the differences if there is any.

If going from railed to railed?

I want a full length picatinny , as I mentioned it is purely ascetic.
We all have our quirks, this is mine

That’s what I figured.

Does anyone know if you can use the barrel nut from the PSA lightweight hand-guard with the new hex handguard?

Not sure. Maybe @sean.psa can find out.

To piggy back on this topic. I was wondering if the Rise Armament M-LOK/RA-905 handguard would fit on my PSA .300 BO. I am very new to ARs so don’t know what to look for.

And this is the AR.

It will fit, but you will need to remove the barrel nut, muzzle device, gas block, and gas tube. You will need another crush washer for the muzzle device as you shouldn’t use the same one a 2nd time.

Hmm, that sounds overly complicated just to replace a handguard. Do you have to remove everything to slide the new handguard on? Or do you have to replace them? I had hopped I could just slide off the old handguard and put the new on back on.

Do a few searches on youtube, it’s not complicated, just be careful

When you buy a new handguard does it come with the barrel nut? And thanks for all the answers. I have always owned guns but just recently bought an AR so I have lots of newbie questions.

Even with the low profile gas block in the second post?

Yes. You have to do that to get the barrel nut off.

Yes. Handguards always come with a barrel nut unless they use a USGI nut (like Samson or clamshell handguards).

Yes. Low pro wont go through a barrel nut.
