Anyone know of any free float handguards, if any, that will replace a PSA handguard without changing the barrel nut? Who does PSA source their handguards from?
I’ve always bought PSA hand guards to replace my PSA hand guards ![]()
Im pretty sure they make their own.
Would be my first choice, but pretty much out of stock and looking for FDE
I hear ya on the FDE
I hassled them on color choices quite a while ago. They told me colors were coming…
We got blue and red ARs ![]()
They are made in house and the nut is proprietary.
I kind of figured, thanks for the response

Oy!
Nothin wrong with Blue an Red ARs!
Unless you’re
for FDE or Coyote Tan ![]()
Or bronze or titanium grey ![]()
Agreed. Although I’d certainly expect FDE, OD green, etc before red and blue.
If you have the lightweight rail without the picatinny on top a Samson mlok will fit the psa barrel nut
Other options,
If your wanting FDE
Pull the forend;
Duracoat (you could do it yourself)
Ceracoat (local shop? Or send out)
Rattle can with a few coats of clear matt (again diy) tape off the area that mates to the barrel nut.
I rattle canned my last rifle build. Degreased everything, used a self etching primer, and a chalked grey to match my Magpul furniture.
I did the hand guard, flash hider, scope mount, safety selector, forward assist, and mag release button. So far it’s been surprisingly durable.
My 9mm pistol build is definitely getting painted, maybe my 7.62 rifle build too. I haven’t made up my mind on that one yet.
I think I’m going to rattle can my existing handguard, at least for now.
What type of paint did you use?
That’s good stuff
and will adhere to just about anything.
Awesome, thank you! I am assuming Lowe’s/Home Depot, etc…availability?
