Are you planning on doing a review of the just released Vanguard Outfitters 35grain Collateral LE 5.7 Ammo ?.

I don’t have plans to, unless VG wants to send over a few boxes to test. I feel that those rounds are playing too much into the “risk” of over penetration. How will that frangible bullet handle bone?

I’m wondering about the muzzle velocity; the Hornady website lists it at 1810fps. My first thought was it will be an anemic round, but looking at the .380 Critical Defense round, it’s listed at 1000 fps. And Lucky Gunner posted very favorable gel tests from a 4.25" barrel.

I’ve been wondering about the velocity, i watched a video show in a pistol the 5.7 drops to a similar velocity as the 22mag… out the carbine 5.7 definitely has more velocity and i think just the pointy tip helps… haven’t shot 5.7 out a pistol but i want to side by side compare it to a 22mag

is my 6 shooter the 5.7 of revolvers??

It doesn’t. From similar length pistol barrels, roughly 4 to 5 inches, and similar weights (compare the 30 gr vs 30 gr and 40 to the 40) the .22WMR will have a velocity of anywhere from about 200 fps to as much as 600 fps. less. 40 gr. V-Max loaded bullets tend to be around 300 fps apart. It’s significant. These results are consistent, even when compared to “lower power” 5.7x28.
