We all know my vote hahah
However, putting my own aside, which I think you all need one anyway! At least one PBK in your collection.
Here’s my list:
Exodus knife and tool
Nicholas Nichols knives
Esee
Microtech
Zero tolerance
Zieba (some higher end stuff)
Krate tactical has some cool OTFs
Protech is cool too!
Might have picked up one of those Krates @ The Gathering. Not a commemorative o e as the didn’t have the blade profile I preferred.
Which profile were you looking for?!
Kershaw
Ohhh ok, yeah, that one would be cool
ive never been one to be too into knives… as i have pistols and rifles, so my theory was never take a knife to a gunfight. I know that knives have a purpose and a place, but i just cant justify spending any major money on knives seeing as my already very limited and stretched budget can barely afford the hobbies that i attempt to have as it is. 2 - 300 for a pocket knife is just too much for me, and unfortunately i have expensive tastes when i start looking at them lol.
As for major knives i mostly own old pocket knives… a SOG Seal Pup, and an old school Buck Kalinga Gen 1… the Pup was a gift from my brother while he was at his MOS training school, and the buck was a gift from my friend and my grandfathers best friend from the war, when i graduated to Eagle Scout… I have a K-Bar USMC commerative, a mini tactical Kbar in black, and a m16 Bayonet by the united cutlery (whomever makes the modern bayonets for the m16s for the marine Corps. I also have other bayonets for my mil-surps, for the garands the 1903’s the 1917s the mosin nagants… the SKS has a blade bayonet built in, and i think thats about it for knifes…
I’d love to have had the disposable income to have bought the commemerative knife from the gathering, and i’d love to grab one from papabear just cause his knives look awesome and i know him here so i’d support him if i could really just blow money on knives. I’ve also liked some like the matech, but again too much $$$ for me at this point in life. That said, i sure do like looking at them!!!
I have a $1100 knife for sale ![]()

How that for expensive?! Hahah
I’m under cutting myself on it too
Oh well l!
No, but I feel you! It took me three years before I could bring my self to spend over 100 on a knife. Now I own some made by others that are upwards to $800. Like the WW2 Hurricane hawker armor knife. The cladding is from the armor. If your on FB hit up my group! It’ll be worth it
Top to bottom:
Gerber empower
Benchmade bugout
Benchmade freek
Exodus knife and tool jackalope x2
Exodus knife and tool adventurecraft
(Which these are made by white river)
The owner of exodus is the guy that talked me into buying my first dagger compact
lol glad you understand where im coming from.
what makes a knife worth1100? I realize your knives are hand made, and are 1 of a kind, but what else makes them worth so much?(not trying to be an â– â– â– , im genuinely curious about it as i dont understand. )
maybe one year i’ll be at that point like you, and finally able to spend more than 100 on a knife. we’ll see. I need to check out that ww2 knife.
No your good! I used to be the same way!
Material+time!
The knife in question that’s 1100 is darkmai Bowie. It consists of layers. 80crv2, coppermascus, the 80crv2. I grab my billets from baker forge and tool. Depends on the size but the billet I used cost $500+
Its 16” overall in length. Then the koa wood scales cost like $50. After that we dive into running the heat treat oven, the belts for grinding the steel, the belts for shaping the handle material, the sand paper for hand sanding. So I go through the grits by hand on each side. 120/220/320/400/600 sometimes up to 1200 grit. There’s times where I’ll spend all day hand sanding
The worst part, hand sanding all the way to 600 then realizing you still have decarb in one small spot and then having to regrind and re hand sand ![]()

@PapaBearKnivesV2
The grey blade with 2 tone handle is an ontario RAT-7 in D2 steel.
My ESEE-6, candiru, izula & izula II are not pictured. My Junglas is on the right in the bottom image.
All hard use blades for sure.
Ah yeah your right! Ontario and esee can be hard to tell apart when your still not awake hahah
@PapaBearKnivesV2
No worries!
I’m half asleep and off to bed.
