Hello, this is Mike the old knife guy. I want to make sure PSA is your one stop shop for knives.
- What is your favort brand of knives?
- What is your EDC?

Hello, this is Mike the old knife guy. I want to make sure PSA is your one stop shop for knives.

Right now what I have clipped to my front pocket is a Civivi Lume. Prior to that it was a CRKT Ichi.
My EDC knife is an Ontario Knife Company RAT-1. Absolutely love them.
Iâm ashamed to say I donât carry any particular knife⌠just a smith and Wesson pocket knife or a mtech
Buck 110T in the leather it was packaged with for the last 14 years. Itâs on me for everything but sleep, shower, andâŚone other thing.
Right now a Spyderco
Not sure if thatâs smart or not. Iâm hard on knives, but also do my best to try and keep them sharp
I donât necessarily have a favourite âBrandâ - but I used to be partial to Gil Hibbenâs designs, back in the â80s/â90s.
My EDC tends toward cheaper, yet functional. From circa (memâry here) â06 to about â17, I carried this Chinesium Browning lockback. Until the lock wore enough to be a little bit on the Dangerous side:
As I looked for a replacement, this Kershaw assisted opening caught my eye, so I had The Wife purchase it for me (Superstition Alert! Never buy your own knife - always have a Loved One Gift it to you!)
Itâs not been the best knife Iâve ever carried. The spring for the assist breaks about every 400-500 actuations. Kershaw sends me more without complaint, and upon request. The steel could be a little more durable - it doesnât hold an edge as you would expect for Kershawâs reputation.
I liked it enough, however, that when I saw this one, I had The Wife get it for me as a replacement.
Another EDC spring-flick-er, of course. However, the Honeymoon didnât last:
Six months; the liner-lock tang broke. In Kershawâs Defense - Iâve had it sitting in a drawer longer than I carried it, I need to get an RMA and send it back for Warranty. In addition, the steel doesnât seem any more durable than my other one.
Hey @Mike_PSA , welcome to the forums!!
I posted a more extensive list in another thread linked to this one.
Spyderco
Benchmade, Emerson design
CRKT
Emerson
Cold Steel
Everything pictured has been carried, used and loved.
Cold Steel San Mai III blades.
Just finished perusing 702 items in the knives category.
Fairly well rounded selection of cutting tools. Saw many good knives I already have other versions of (blade steel changed from what I have).
I would like to see Work Sharp sharpeners. I did see the Benchmade branded version of a few work sharp designed sharpeners however, the #1 recomendation I have for those new to touching up an edge is not listed.
The guided field sharpener by Work Sharp.
Edit to add:
the Benchmade branded version.
Nice, How is it to sharpen?
We are planning on carrying more buck knifes.
Really great information. and love the pics.
Thank you Sir.
AZ_Joe, I really like your Taste; thank you for sharing. Please continue to post. I like a lot of different makers. I am a big OKC fan; I was a consultant and then worked for them from 2010-2012.
Will do Mike!
Welcome to the forum!
One heck of an entrance, by the way.
I will check on theses.
Fairly easy to keep sharp on my stones. Its part of a rotation that I carry so I donât have to sharpen it often. Itâs also only a $60 knife for s30v and is very lightweight. It isnât a spring assist open but I have never had an issue with that.
where is the blue merle? Probably sneaking up behind you!
