Jackl 9 lower

Good day ladies and gents, Im building a pdw and I really want to use a Jackl as the lower. How different is it from the ARV, is the back end cap part just a cap and can it be removed? I will be using a Mat9K roller upper and just doing some asking around b4 I start buying stuff. Thank you in advance. I have the ARV and love it, I had to put a captured spring sys to tame it and had the Jackl 9 been a roller I would buy one. I am not a PSA homer, Ive had my complaints on my experience but as a whole it is still better than most. And not too shabby that its made here locally.

It is the same as an AR-V lower but with the Jakl buffer system, which fits into the buffer tube threading section.

the gen 1 jakl lower is a standard ar15 lower. where as the ARV lower is not a standard ar 15 lower. The Jakl build kit comes with the parts to form the plug for the standard AR lower, so you can adapt the JAKL to it without issue. I dont think a ARV lower would mate up to a JAKL upper at all with any ability to function.

then again i dont rememeber what the ARV lower differences are.

Hes asking about the jakl 9 lower with a mat9 upper @GamecockOperator .

@kais3rboy i have no idea if that upper will work with the arv/jakl9 lower.

Please do.

I might try to discourage you from running a Jakl/AR-V lower with a Mat9 upper?

The owner said “Takes some machining of the bolt, if you can or know someone that can do that, it can be made to run”. He did not elaborate on exactly what needed to be done unfortunately.

Unless you’re just hell bent on having the AR-V style bolt release just scrounge up a Scorpion pattern AR lower and you’re gtg?

Well… thats a deal breaker… dang. Thanks for the info.

On the plus side, one of the makers of Scorpion pattern lowers is coming back on line after a brief hiatus, New Frontier Armory.

Yah, their site was down and rumorville said that they were going to to b2b only.

Update: Its a NO GO with the ARV lower. So if the Jackyl is the same then same results. Physically fits (and man it is sexy)… BUT

  • The ejector is too tall and in the path of the bolt
  • The feed ramp is also too tall
  • The mag wont catch

Thats as far as Im willing to take it. Ill just buy a lower from Matador.

Thats good to know. I hate it wont work though. That would have been another good option for AR-V lowers.

It probably COULD be made to work, but is the sauce worth the simmer?

Site is back up but they’re out of stock on many items. I’m sure it will take a bit to get back up to speed.

They do have MP5 pattern lowers for sale if you’re not married to Scorpion mags?

Ive considered this scenario but i didnt want to mess with my ARv, she runs good. My goal was to have interchangeable uppers that were very different. Unfortunately for me, they were too different.

I went with a glock pattern since I have tons of those mags already and having a dagger and this in my bag would be good as far as sharing ammo.

yeah thats one reason i did the ar 9 in glock pattern too is cause i have so many glock mags as well then i got the dagger, and well i have a lot of glock stlye mags. cause now ive got a sub 2000 too that uses glock mags too.. and other things im sure around here use glock mags..

i think the overall design is more compact with the glock lower with an easier mag release.. i enjoy it

I could have sworn I saw that there were specific JAKL 9 Lower Build kits but I don’t see them on the website now.

Does the Lower Build kit for a JAKL in 5.56 work with a JAKL 9 build?

It should.
