Has there been any discussion on the timeframe when the JAKL 308 will be available for purchase? Also, any idea what actual cost will be? I’m really itching for a JAKL 308, but if it isn’t slated to hit the market within the next year, I’m going to break down and buy a SCAR17.

sadly no at this time there is no apparent news about when the Jakl 308 will be available to purchase., no talk about cost either. I too want one, and it probably wont be ready till next year. it takes time to develop the machinery and the rest of things to get them all set and tested. Good things come to those who wait… and I’ll be waiting.
as for buying a scar17 just cause your impatient of waiting, if you can afford to do so feel free… I have a Scar17 nrch and while i love it, it is a different animal entirely than the Jakls in general. I do know that the Jakl 308 price wont be anywhere near the scar 17’s, in fact id be surprised if it were around 1500.00 or more. but that’s just me.
of course imi not a psa employee, and i have no access to anything regarding product development or deployment. but i do know I want the Jakl308 and would probably use it more than i use my SCAR.
i think you’ll have buyers remorse if you buy the SCAR just cause the Jakl doesnt come out fast enough, and I think that if you wait you can use the excess money to dress out the jakl in accessories and still have money left over.

I agree with you on all points. I’d be better off waiting on the JAKL 308.
Honestly, I’d rather have the JAKL 308. A soon as the original JAKL came out I said to myself, “If they made that in a 308, I’d buy one.” Then, I moved on and started lusting after some other weapon. Then another, and so on… When PSA unveiled the JAKL 308 at Shotshow it rekindled that fire in me.
I’ve never even wanted a SCAR of any variety. I feel that they are overpriced, especially when you can do the same thing for less than half the price with an AR15 or AR10 (piston not gas). But, the more I think about wanting a JAKL 308, the more I think, “I could cry once/buy once on the SCAR17, and just be done with it.” Sadly, I’ve never been a very patient person…
I’ve already got so many AR15s and AR10s, All my bases are already covered. I really don’t NEED the JAKL 308, but when has NEEDING a new gun ever been part of the logic of WANTING a new gun? I suppose it could be my new favorite deer rifle along with the AR10 in 308, the one in 6.5 Creedmoor, the AR in 300 BLK, and the 45/70 lever gun…
For now, I’ll wait. Maybe I’ll buy some other toy that holds my interest between now and the future date when PSA drops an actual release date for the JAKL 308. I just hope it doesn’t turn into another one of their unicorn guns that never actually materializes.

sometimes im a bit long winded so forgive me.
I’ve always wanted a SCAR17 sos this year i was able to trade a gun i never shot for it…im thrilled that i did, and love my scar, but i would have never spent hard earned cash money on buying it. at 4000.00 roughly its just not a realistic price i’d ever pay for a gun.
A jakl 308 at 1500 (im guessing here, but it would be great if it was around that price… ) i would spend my hard earned money on. i’d even go up to say as much as 2k if i had to, after months of saving of course. which is why i know i wouldnt have buyer remorse on my jakl versus i would with the SCAR which is why i had said what i had said.
I have 2 jakls already, the 300blackout iin 8.5 ODG, and the 556 in 10.5 fde I love them both. theyre a blast to shoot, accurate, can be accessorized like an AR, and dont run as dirty cause its a long stroke piston instead of DI. I know what you mean about lusting after other weapons. its what us gun guys do. lol. seeing it at shot, man made me really want one now, but even as a moderator here, i have to wait as much or more than the general public cause they dont give me any special treatment to buy it first, or to tell me before they tell anyone else. I know about it just about as fast as the general public knows about things when it comes to products at PSA.
I’d always wanted a SCAr cause im a big fan of FN, and have a lot of their other weapons. It was like the unicorn in the herd for me. and i finally was able to get the unobtainium. pretty m uch came close to finishing out my FN rifle collection… almost… n ot quite. 
I agree with the overpricing, but there are some guys who buy a scar and hate it. if you’ve n ever shot one, i’d recommend renting one at your gun store if they allow you to rent them or shoot a buddies if someone you konw has one before you even think of buying one. I know what you mean about cry once buy once… and i pretty much try to live my gun collection to that standard… it isnt always easy to though. and i too suffer from your impatience syndrome too… lol.
i know what you are saying about having y our bases covered and still needing a jakl 308… my bases are covered too, but the jakl is just too cool to not have in 308… and when it comes out having it and setting t up as a dmr will be awesome. who knows i may even buy a suppressor and make it real neat. I dont have a 6.5 creedmore, and no 45/70s for me… but it sounds like you have a good selection for sure.
do you have a regular jakl? if not, perhaps you should pick one up, and see how much fun that they are, and maybe quench your thirst a little bit so you can hold out the year or so for it to come out in 308? it may keep your interest up, yet allow you to daydream about how you’re gonna configure your 308 jakl?
PSA really has not had too many unicorn guns that never materialize;… in fact i think the only one i remember them doing that with honestly is the mp5… and they explained why they decided against it, which made a lot of sense to me. besides, if they’re coming out with all this other cool stuff and the cost of it was not getting a mp5 from them, well im quite fine with that.
I’m personally waiting for a release date for the updated handguards on the 5.56 JAKLs

I really love his enthusiasm regarding the PSA parts. Im not sure what he meant about the upper on the jakl is his feedback but cool. Seeing this reminds me that i really want a 308 Jakl, the vuk, and the olcan badly. lol. but the dang x5.7 man… cant wait… still think they need 50 round mags though.
the STG should be out this year… so theres another one i gotta get… 
im gonna be way psa broke.
seeing the Krink is already out now is awesome too.
i do want to build a shotgun and a bolt gun now since this shot show debut as well… i think that both would be fun.
thanks for the refresher video… now i know i need a lot more money, and want alot more firearms that PSA is making, and i havent even gotten to the pistols section yet.
He bought a JAKL and modified it with larger relief cuts in the upper to help reduce heat buildup and PSA reached out to him about it eventually incorporating it into the .308 upper.
well its a good idea, even if he did butcher the hell out of it.
Sounds like a good idea, but I bet you $1 PSA doesn’t make any changes to their original design.

Well, y’all talked me into it… I decided to go ahead and buy a JAKL in 300AAC. I ordered a Lower build kit with F5 Stock (no receiver) in FDE, an 8.5 inch 300AAC complete upper in FDE, and an FDE magazine. It was all in stock when I put it in my shopping cart and paid for it 3 days ago.
As of today, only the freaking magazine has shipped. The upper I ordered is now showing Out of Stock on the website.
What are the odds that I’m screwed and my complete upper and lower build kit never ship? I certainly would not have ordered if I knew I was going to end up in this situation… And, what the heck am I gonna do with the magazine while I wait on PSA to assemble another upper?

You will get what you ordered.
PSA will not sale items unless they are In stock. Have no worries about that.
Lots of times items may ship in multiple shipments. Hopefully this helps you out.
