@elfers I’d want a .300 AAC with that short of a barrel. The cartridge was designed for short barrels specifically in mind.

I am getting strong KS-74 and Dagger vibes off this thing. Given the lag it took to go from the PSAk-47 to the PSAK-74, I wouldn’t expect this anytime during the Biden administration.

It looks sharp AF, but the 300blackout performs way better at that length.

Only one thing to do: buy both.

I’d buy 5.56. And honestly, I think a rifle version would look sweet!

Yeah it looks pretty cool. I’d be interested in the 5.56 as well over the .300BLK but that’s just because I already have a .300BLK SBR. The 5.56 (maybe with a YHM Turbo K on it) would be more appealing to me.
Between the Krink, Dagger, Jakl and whatever else draws my attention, I’m ready to jump on all of them! haha.

Wondering what caused the change in the look of the jakl? I really liked the initial photos that were coming out at some of the shows but it looks like it has a significant change in the look of it looking at the recent pictures of it?

They haven’t been showing it with a brace lately. Probably steering clear of the ATF. Other than that they shifted focus off the .300 blk version which had a shorter barrel and rail. Probably due to availability of ammo? Anyway, it’s kind of a bummer. I was all in on the designers idea for the perfect truck gun. I wonder how he feels about the direction PSA has taken his project.

My understanding is there will still be a 7.5" variant - but most of the models demo’d have been the longer 5.56 barrels. I would hold off on panicking - everything I have seen looks true to form.

well now that 300 is pretty much owned by PSAs family going 300 is not that big a deal. and may be even better in he long run. So im sure that i’ll have to make more 300 blk in the future due to it too.

I’d get the 556 also. 300 blk is just too expensive. Plus I’m not shooting a jackal over 100 yards. Ive seen plenty of vids of 7,5 556 ar pistols punching holes in gel at a 100

I was less than impressed with 5.56 coming out of my 10.5" PSA build vs coming out of a sig 556xi, slightly longer barrel makes one hell of a difference at super short ranges.

Was maybe 25-30 yards in my backyard range, M193 out of the 10.5" barrel of my PSA would ring steel, out of a friend’s Sig 556xi it would tear right through. Really looking forward to the JAKL if current administration, pandemic and the rest of the current world mess doesn’t push all the good stuff out of reach and/or out of existence like NFA did.
