Did all the JAKL’s go non-reciprocating charging handles? The one I shot at the Gathering a couple years ago did not have the non-recip CH and I’ve had zero interest in the platform solely because of that. Absolutely loved everything else about the platform. Matter of fact I think I said to @rockymountainjeep “I loved everything about it right up until I pulled the trigger.”
They are all non recip. Could be the one at the gathering needed some lube on the sled.
I know it was not long after first release, swear the rep said it was recip after it hit my hand (southpaw.) I’d have already had at least one had I known.
Screen grab of the Jakl 9 bolt from the MAC video recently released-
The extension on top is extra mass so the blowback action works properly and it butts into the sled for the NRCH. I have a couple Mat9”s they’re very similar except the extension is dovetailed to the bolt and the Jakl appears to be possibly one piece or it’s pinned in place. Can’t tell from the video.
just dropping a sear in it doesnt do it. there is some actual modification needed. the guys on FN forum are SUPER hard core that they will not discuss it at all.. but every so often a little info slips through.. I’ve never seen the whole diagrams on what needs to be done, and only have a vague idea of what it is. but i know the sear alone wont do it at all. the engineering angle of it is what interests me in it. Its an amazing piece of work, and how it does all that it does is sooo fascinating. i’d love to learn more about it and my twin tuna fish to it the FNS2000.
I do love my ps90 though.. ive got the OD green one to mach my OD Green fn FiveseveN pistol. I’d love to get the ruger carbine in 5.7, and the keltec pistol, and carbine and just about every other maker of the 5.7 guns models too if ii had my way. true its not cheap to shoot, but its an awesome round and i love it.
both my jakls are non recip so idk.
The JAKL at The Gathering must have been dry and dirty and I’m guessing whoever said about it being reciprocating was filling in for someone who knew better. People have to eat, pee and whatnot. Now that I think about it when @1911 and I were at the MB store Because I wanted him to handle one because of how the nailed the ergos and I asked the guy at the counter about the CH and he didn’t know. Greg loved the way it felt too and probably would have bought one that day.
you cut the bcg
For the Panzer

actually n o, but you can cut one of the things in the trigger pack to make a groove and that will do it iirc.. the bcg should be good to go as far as i know
I Know nada about the P90.
no one seems to know how the p90 works except maybe airhawk but that post was so complicated about half way through i just gave it a thumbs up, lol ..also people don’t like to talk about it because they assume you’re making something you’re not supposed to, every once in a while i find someone who just doesn’t care, usually on the backend of some public gunsite forums, explain so much in such a simple way i quickly achieve my personal goals
Airhawk: The thingamajig in the back connects to the jingy thing attached to the thingy that moves forward to the flimflam nuckle nut. And it goes BANG! ![]()
we were talking about two different things. i was speaking on the ps90.. not the panzer. now that i realize what you were speaking on, it makes more sense to me. I didnt know that about the panzer and by learning that now, it only makes me wish to get the upper more now.
i wouldnt say no one. and in reality its pretty simple how the ps90 works.. same as the p90 actually. it uses a trigger pack that is loaded in the rear of the rifle, which is all plastic.. same as the fs2000’s however you cannot interchange the two with each other.
you are right folks dont like to talk about it, because they’re afraid of getting in trouble with the law. to me when you’re afraid to share knowledge you no longer are free. just because you know a thing does not mean you will do a thing. understand about the guys on the back end of some forums.. they are true patriots as they arent afraid to share their knowledge.
I’m just waiting on the 16" rifle variant to come out eventually…
I’m not sure if they will make a rifle version of the 9mm
Danny on Reddit said as of now there are plans for an eventual 16" rifle.
Ah, havent talked to Danny lately.
Well, where’s that Crow I’m supposed to be eating…
Still, I have to add: knowing what I do about the FCG in the P90/PS90 - this seems a little bit less “FaRT-Trigger”-ey and more “Machine-gun”-ey.
(Without yet knowing details of the FRT90 operation)
