One of the best war movies ever, I would have cringed at the last part of the movie if it were not true that they charged in the end.
But anyway, in the Army we were taught simple things. If passing a sergeant or any NCO you say “good morning Sargent” or “good Afternoon Sargent”. But during the movie “We were soldiers once.. and young” the guy messes it up “Beautiful Morning Sargent Major” lol wrong kid! But I think after they go to combat the Sgt Major accepts him.
Cursing of course because all Sargent Majors cuss. Just life
As a bonus one of my favorite actors.
That was all the officers also because Sgt Major can do that.
Go re-watch it if been a while and if you have never seen “We were Soldiers Once” then you are missing out.

Fun fact about Crusades is that the Muslims had already been doing it for nearly 300 years before Christian Crusades to the Holy Land. They sacked Rome also in 846. But when they invaded Francia in 730AD they ran into Charles “The Hammer” Martel. They were soundly defeated at Tours in 732 and retreated back to Spain which they held by force until Queen Isabela in 1492. Crazy 700+years. Martel probably was major reason Islam didn’t take Western Europe.
