Thinking about swapping my 10.5” barrel for a 16”, along with the handguard and gas tube. Does anyone have any idea how frequently these barrels are stocked?
Any 7.62x39 AR barrel will work.
I thought I saw in another thread that the feed ramp was different for the KS 47. Are you saying that a bear creek arsenal barrel would work just fine?
It should. This thread may be of help. Take note of the trough vs m4 feed ramps, and if that hurts/helps reliability.
I have built two different KS-47 uppers, one a 16" the other a 18". The 16" carbine length gas system used a BCA barrel, I then had a friend grind the “trough” feed ramp. The 18" used a mid-length gas system Green Mountain barrel and the ramps were so nice I didn’t want to trough it. I have had no feeding issues with either.
Just made a forum profile and don’t think I can make a new post yet… But do you have any idea how often restock occurs for the Ks-47? I have discovered it recently when research the CMM MK-47 but this thing looks like literally half the price! Definitely interested in picking one of these up.
Also, are you aware of reliable side charging After market products that can be implemented?
IDK on the restock or on a side charger.
There are a bunch of KS-47 uppers (various lengths) and lowers on the website now. I think you save a little buying them separately because of a Fed tax on complete guns. Not really into side charging unless it’s non-reciprocating. I put an extended charging handle latch on mine and love it (PSA had one a while back but I don’t see it anymore).
Edit: There are complete KS-47s in stock too.
Devil Dog Concepts has a side charging adapter that will attach to picitinny rail of the KS-47 upper. Their Hard Charger Rear will fit without the need to modify it. They have 2 other options which will require slight fitment as the KS-47 upper is 1mm wider than a Mil-Spec upper.
How do you handle the adjustment? I was literally looking at those today for my KS47
You have to file a little off of the the hard charger, it’s not hard and there is a video on YouTube about it.
I have been eyballing this
I have built 2 uppers using this. They’re great.
