Hi Guys, just need some enlightenment. I recently built off a Lead Star stripped lower from PSA, bought some parts elsewhere. I used a lower parts kit where the same set worked without problems on my Aero Precision M5 build.
But with my Lead Star lower, the same bolt catch won’t even reach the bolt with or without a mag and with the bolt fully pulled back…
Can anybody suggest which bolt catch should I get? I am waiting on a Strike Industries AR10 bc to arrive. But hoping someone else can point me to one that I can use on this lower receiver… Thanks.
You need the PSA one. This is one of those parts that has issues on certain guns because there is no industry standard with ar10s. I doubt the strike will fit due to how big it is and the lack of room on the outside of the upper.
Maybe @sean.psa can point you in the right direction.

AR10s are a pain because of the exact reason GG pointed out, no standardization in builds. There’s also two types of lowers, the AR10A and AR10B. That bolt catch in the link is for an AR10B. I’m assuming it will work since I can’t seem to find a Lead Star specific AR10 bolt catch in their section of the website.

well as GuitarGuy stated… the proper bolt catch to use is the PSA AR10 one. Lead Star is owned by PSA, and as such, the AR10’s are basically the same design lowers. SO using a PSA AR10 lower bolt Catch would fix the issue.
best ofl uck.

Update: Strike Industries AR10 bolt catch will catch the bolt without mag, but doesn’t work properly with a PMag or ProMag AR10 mags on.
Now I guess I have to buy the PSA one and hope that it’ll work.
Get rid of your promags also. They are junk mags.

That’s what I thought too… Just bought them out of a whim here on PSA together with the Lead Star Stripped Lower. Saw it had high reviews, when it arrived it looked like crap! Had to sand them down, rubbed with WD40 and pressed both sides together. They look alright now and work properly on my Aero Precision M5 build.

What handguard are you using? Im building a 12" 8.6 and cant seem to find a handguard <12" and where the top rail matches up. I see PSA / Leadstar has 0 offerings in this area.
welcome to the forums @Phillypyro … I like running Geissele rails personally.
you may wanna look to them for a <12" handguard
