Fires once then click. Tried CLP, Oil ,different brands of ammo but still won’t fire due to light strike. Help
Need some specifics…what trigger, did you build it yourself, is it ejecting the spent cartridge, etc ? Pics would be good.
Stock gun. ejects fine just not hitting primer hard enough. Ammo is fine , I shot it thru a 2nd KS.
You can try a heavier hammer spring, like the Wolff extra power.
If you have a Milspec FCG (not drop in “cassette” trigger) PM me and I’ll drop one in the mail to you - I literally have more X-Power Wolff hammer springs than I’ll ever use.
Gratis.
(It may or may not fit a cassette FCG - I guarantee Nothing as far as that is concerned)
I ordered the Wolff Extra power hammer spring. I’ll test it out this weekend hopefully.
Just received the wollf x power spring . That thing is much stiffer, it should hit way harder. I’ll test it out this weekend. Thx
I had some light strike issues on a build I did for The Wife, and putting one in Solved it immediately.
So, being an all-or-nothing-mentality kinda guy, I got where I WAS putting them in Everything I built - the Ol’ Belt-and Suspenders line of thinking.
Then, I got a batch of BCGs with a little bit more “pointy” firing pins, and the first two of those I used would crater HELL outta the primers. Putting back the “stocker” spring stopped that crap.
So, now I have a Literal pile of Wolff springs, and haven’t needed a single one since.
That’s why I offered to mail you one.
Well after adding the heavier spring and an enhanced firing pin, I was able to shoot a 20 rd mag. However I started having light strikes several rds into 2nd mag. Tried CLP , New mag, different box of ammo, cleaned it . Complete takedown. Clean reassembly w light oil and once again its a one shot wonder. Help!!
Make sure the hammer spring is not installed upside down, as that will cause light strikes.
Is it going 100% into Battery? Hammer spring in correctly? (it’s an easy mistake - and easy fix)
If you have an iPhone, slo-mo film the gun firing, paying attention to the BCG, see if something obvious is happening.
Im shipping it back to PSA. Let them figure it out. Yeah all springs are installed correctly. BCG is in proper position. Buffer is good. Thx
Do you think removing the O ring from the extractor could solve the issue?
I do not know. I have heard guys recommend “pulling the donut out and flipping the spring upside down” then claiming that fixed an extraction problem - but have never done that. Seems counter-intuitive to me.
I had/have an issue with light primer strikes. Actually sent the gun in to have it looked at. It had a 20% fail rate with global arsenal ammo sourced from PSA, which was the first ammo I tried.
They cleaned the firing pin area and it worked for them, and explained it had gotten gunked up with the green primer sealant that is on the global arsenal bullets. My first light primer strike was within the first 10 shots and the wolf and tula ammo I shot from it worked fine after being ‘dirtied’…
I dont know. I guess I’ll avoid the global arsenal ammo since its the only one that gives me light primer strikes so far.
IDK. My KS47 has always fired 100% of the time, with the OEM BCG and PSA EPT trigger group. Whether it’s Wolff, Tula, or Golden Tiger my KS47 seems to cycle them all without issue. I put a few magazines thru it about a month and a half ago.
It seems like recently I’ve been hearing a lot of complaints about light primer strikes. I’ve been getting light primer strikes with my 10MM P80 PF45 I built. I know it’s the gun and not the ammo as my G20SF fires the rounds 100% after my P80 doesn’t.
I personally swap out the extractor springs for 5 coil springco extractor springs in all of my guns like a psycho. I doubt that would help your situation though.
Did it function after you got it back I am having the same issue
