Picked up my Ks-47 yesterday at my lgs.
Ordered it from PSA about 2 weeks ago.
Opened it up. Super sweet.
8.5 inch barrel.
I put some Tulammo in the included P mag and stepped out my back door and shot.
First shot good, second shot was a light primer strike. I did this awhile. Went and grabbed my 10-63 wasr to make sure it wasn’t the ammo.
Anyway pulled pistol apart, cleaned and lubed everything.
Back together it went. Same light primer strikes so I ordered an enhanced Firing pin from BRC.
Anyone have this issue?
I have dealt with hard primers in Tula ammo. Try another brand and see if it’s the same problem
This may sound crazy but several have had the issue. Check to make sure your trigger pins aren’t slightly pushed out.
It uses standard AR Trigger components. I toss in a wolf extra power spring in everything I expect to shoot steel out of.
I also added a Wolf extra power hammer spring. I’m pretty sure the KS47 already has a slightly longer firing pin. I shot almost 2000 rounds of Tula and other steel case through my 1st Gen with the Wolf hammer spring without a misfire.
I had problems with the gas block moving. It’s not pinned (set screws) turned into a single shot after 120 rounds out of box. My buddies laughed at me because I had to mortar it open twice before I gave up.Palmetto was Awesome with warranty.PSA payed shipping both ways had it back to me in 2 weeks and pistol has not given me a problem since.
My only complaint , I had robbed some foam out of the box to line the back of a pistol safe. When I sent it back I used air bag packing to fill the original box. When it came back it was just put in box with no airbag/ foam packing. I’m not a bitch but if I was sending a warranty repair back,I would have added some fill to the box. Pistol was in perfect condition even without packing foam!
I had really wanted a roller locked hk 7.62x39 as I gave up on special weapons way back when they promised they were gonna send them out.Kinda glad I got my deposit back.
In all honesty my KS 47 shoots smoother than 9mm blowback pistol and very impressive accuracy!
Just have to nurse my supply of 7.62x39.I cannot afford to replace it at xiden/covid panic prices.
Update.
After the light primer strikes I went ahead and ordered the Black Rifle Arms 7.62x39 Enhanced Firing Pin. Showed up in 4 days. Put it in earlier. Loaded up some of the same Tula steel cases ammo out of the safe and stepped out back.
She ran great!
Ate up all the Tula no problem!
Very pleased. I love this little pistol!
Maybe i should make that change in my AR. It has a Geissele, so it probably doesn’t have the oomph behind striking those primers too. My AK has an ALG, but I haven’t had the chance to fire wolf or tula through it to know.
Thanks for updating the thread with the solution
I’d like to see PSA just switch to these or make their own version that have the same changes.
What would pushed out look like? Im having issues also w light primer strikes too.
You can look on either side of your lower, the pins I’m talking about hold the trigger and the hammer in place and, at least on my 10.5" PSA KS47, tend to walk out of one side or the other. The trigger and hammer continue to function, but the hammer seemed drag and started to produce light strikes. All I had to do was lineup the hole and simply push the pin back in place. If this does turn out to be the issue for you, they make anti-walk pins that are easily installed.
