It ran great for the first 1000-1500 rounds with almost zero problems. I then broke the extractor. Replaced it with the PSA TC-E extractor. At that same time I put in a PSA 2 Stage trigger. Now it might get a few rounds but then not extract or even jam 2 rounds together in the chamber. Also some rounds won’t fire. I see a dimple from the firing pin. I then put in a Black Rifle Arms enhanced firing pin and enhanced power hammer spring. It’s actually worse now. Obvious answer is I should probably put the original trigger in and see what happens?
Yes, put the original trigger back in as well as the original firing pin.
What ammo are you using, and what is your buffer and spring combo?
Buffer and spring are the original from PSA. I’ve tried different ammo; steel Tula and Wolf, as well as various brass. I have 5 Magpul 30 round mags that I have alternated as well. This weekend I’ll put the original trigger back in. Thanks for the feedback.
Wolf has IMO harder primers these days.
I will give the same advice that I give so many others on the forum.
Use your iPhone camera. Have someone else hold your KS-47 steady and fire a few shots……while you are taking a “close up” VIDEO of the bolt & chamber area. Use the “Slow Motion” mode when taking the Video. Do this in good bright light. You will be surprised by how much detail you will see in the operation of the gun. You should see exactly what is going on in chamber area. Also get a good close up video (slow mo) of the gas block area on a few shots.
You should NOT see any gas(white smoke) escaping around the gas block area.
You should see a strong stream of gas escaping the exhaust ports on the ejection side of the bolt carrier.
You should get a good diagnosis of what’s going on with the chamber area and extractor claw. Double check that extractor to ensure it’s the correct size for x39.
That iPhone camera is a great diagnostic tool that we often forget about. ……it’s all about “close up…slow motion” Good luck and let us know what you learn.
Iam a huge Fan of the KS-47…so I always very interested in any maladies that it suffers.
Will do. Thanks.
