M1 Carbine Information and Accurizing Guide

This is self explanitory. Again if you aren’t familiar with trigger assemblies TAKE IT SLOWLY DON’T RUSH AND KEEP CHECKING YOUR PROGRESS.
You are not removing materal. You are only smoothing out the milling marks and polishing it to a mirror finish.

If you start to actually remove and re contour angles on your sear and hammer you can cause your firearm to malfunction, shoot multiple rounds and even more importantly cause your firearm to be unsafe and fire if dropped or hit hard.

Thank you sir!

One thing that I forgot to mention is that all of the components in all military trigger groups have been heat treated. If you take too much material off of your trigger group parts you will take off the top layer of heat treatment. You then have the problem of soft metal parts in your trigger group that are going to wear prematurely potentially causing a dangerous situation or having to find replacement parts.

Sometimes I really miss the days I used to play in aero machine / sheet metal / avionics / composite / battery / heat treat / hydraulic / flight controls / weld shops / wheel and tire arena. It was stressful but I was blessed to be able to learn a very broad base of materials and processes and how to do things right.
Edit to add: Almost forgot about Interiors and fabric shop. We did a plane for the King or Crown Prince of Saudi, you would not believe what went into the interior of that bird.

Hey I am glad to know that. So when are you free so I can pass off my honey do list off to you? All joking aside I am like you and have the knowledge and skill to do everything myself. The problem now is that my body doesn’t want cooperate with what I want it to do. Be thankful for your health and ability to do things yourself. Since I have always worked on things myself I am not accustomed to asking for help. I have had to swallow my pride and get my son to help me when he can. Between work and my granddaughter he stays busy. My brother just had his prostate taken out because of being diagnosed with prostate cancer so he is laid up for awhile. I do what I can and it just takes me as long as it takes. The positive side to it is that I now have an excellent excuse when I don’t feel like messing with something.

I still try, unfortunately, a few physical infirmities limit what I’m capable of anymore. Just a dumb hick from the hills of western PA that got lucky and was a good reader and could translate the read to the do.

100x this.

it’s hard as hell and frustrating as hell too when you know you would normally just do it, but you cant cause your health has failed you and physically now you can no longer go in and do what needs doing.

I think we both lost most of our pride with all of the time in the hospitals and doctors offices. I just hate to take take up someone else’s time when I know that they are busy and that it will be an inconvenience to them. I don’t want to bother them with my junk. I probably shouldn’t worry about it but I do.

pride and dignity both went out the window lol.
i feel ya on the taking up someone elses time. im the same way. especially if its a buddy doing something for me that i previously woulda had no issue doing myself.
