How tight your trigger group latches up to your stock is critical to the accuracy of your M1 Garand. If the wood of your stock has gotten compressed and your trigger group has gotten to the point where it doesn’t latch up properly there are ways to correct that without replacing your stock. You always want to keep the stock that came with your Garand if at all possible unless it has a lot of damage that can’t be repaired.
