I don’t personally partake in using the Herb myself but know many who do. Use is legal in about half of the states but still illegal per the government.
If I did partake in using the devil’s lettuce then I would have to answer no to the question on form 4473.
I think it’s past time to update form 4473. What do you think ?
I think the restriction at the federal level needs to be removed. I do not see someone using Marijuana resposebly any differently than me drinking adult beverages responsibly.
With it, Marry Jane, being legal in 50% of the united states per state laws, it is well withing common use. At no point has something such as the movie Reefer Madness occured.
From a medical perspective; legitimate way to counteract chemotherapy, i know many who replaced a med addiction to oxy (trying to manage pain) with Marijuana, and many others you can look up.
Big pharma can’t patent the stuff, so it stays blacklisted.
Never been a reefer, or alcohol or whatever kinda drug guy, but I can’t for the life of me understand why alcohol is extremely legal, but pot isn’t? I know it all comes down to the money game, but I for one hope they legalize it, and stop restricting my fellow American’s rights who do partake.
Def money, Ask JB Pritzker. That fat (exploited deleted) family is heavily invested into the pot business. He swept up Govenor of IL on one thing…I’ll make that ■■■■ legal!. Of course you will, he also opened up a shooting range in wisconsin and then wants to take all of law abiding citizens weapons.
My dads cc instructor said that their license could be stripped if your caught purchasing at dispensaries. Not sure how much truth there is to that. It’s IL so i assume it’s a thing. Dont make sense tho, my mom has cancer and goes herself now but wasnt able to for some time. Dad doesnt anymore hes not risking it. Pot has way less potential harm with firearms than alcohol does. Still can’t believe alcohol is legal. Marijuana does wonderful things for people and is probably why it was on the same punishment level as heroin for so long and is still in some places. Insane.
Actually its probably to just make money off of housing inmates.
I’m not a big fan of Oregon Gov. Kotek, BUT I have no choice but to talk with her if I want to see the state do better re Wildfires.
I would also tell her, if she wants to end up at 1600 Penn Ave (the White House), she needs to speak out for the 2A rights of Cannabis users (which is maybe 1/5 of the US population) - and get rid of the line on form 4473 about Cannabis use. Doing just that would make her VERY popular in Oregon.
When Obama had his petition website, the rule was, over 100K signatures, and it becomes an “action item” - they somehow do what the petition requests.
There was one petition that was very popular, and got axed after it got 50K signatures.
It was about studying the link between Fluoride containing drugs (SSRI anti-depressants) and mass shootings.
So which special interest REALLY ran the Obama White House ?
Coming from California, weed is HUGE. Literally everywhere and everyone lol.
It seemed to be a gray area. The question I believe is “are you addicted to illegal drugs” or “do you do illegal drugs”
Well, the “dumb” people just lied.
The “smart” ones said… Define “addicted” because although they admit to using weed, they deny being addicted. They also say define “illegal” because in California it was in fact, legal…
Exactly. Thats why I said “smart”. They weren’t my words lol.
On the flip side, say you already owned and bought guns legally. Then later on smoked? You didnt lie on the form. So is that legal?
Never heard of a pot smoker loosing guns for lying about smoking and owning guns. Everyone in CA smokes pot lol. Cops, lawyers, doctors. Lots of normal everyday people.
The following excerpt is from an article on a nutrition website. You can read the whole thing if you like, which is probably better than just reading the snippet. The summary has some great points that are expounded throughout the article:
ARTICLE SUMMARY
• Cannabis has drug-like effects, some of which may be useful in medicine, but it is not a cure-all.
• Cannabis potency has been increasing over the past seventy years.
• After tobacco and alcohol, cannabis accounts for more dependence than any other drug or drug group, and cannabis use carries considerable risk of psychiatric illness and other serious outcomes.
• The THC in marijuana increases the release of dopamine from the brain and, over time, can lead to serious neurotransmitter imbalances.
• Our bodies produce natural cannabinoids from animal fats in our diet. When well-regulated, these endocannabinoids are “feel-good chemicals” that ensure production of the proper amount of dopamine and cortisol.
• The research on cannabis outcomes for seizure-afflicted individuals is mixed. Seizure disorders often respond well to a diet very high in fats and low in sugar and refined carbohydrates.
• The evidence for marijuana as a pain reliever is also weak.
• Thus far, cancer studies have reached mixed conclusions. Marijuana users exposed to the drug’s potent THC component may be more at risk for cancer, while results for CBD are inconclusive.
• Advocates for medical marijuana often uncritically credit all forms of marijuana and all methods of consuming marijuana as having therapeutic benefits, but patients and providers need to carefully consider dosing, potency, purity, potential adverse effects and other factors before entering this new medical frontier.
These days, many voices in social media are lauding cannabis as the cure for almost any ailment. Decades ago, however, the notion of “medical marijuana” was so far-fetched that when the editor of High Times magazine jokingly stated at a conference that he smoked pot to prevent glaucoma, the crowd roared with laughter.1
Keith Stroup, founder of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), seized on the idea of “medical pot” because of its political value. In a 1979 interview he gave at Emory University, he stated, “We are trying to get marijuana reclassified medically. If we do that, we’ll be using the issue as a red herring to give marijuana a good name.”2 Richard Cowan, another leader at the same organization, openly referred to medical marijuana as a “scam” that would help legalize recreational use.1
Has anything popularized by the 3-letter media, health orgs, or government ever been good for Americans? Do we not have massive death from cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, etc - when most of these were practically non-existent before 1920? Think of “safe” corn oil, “cheap” high-fructose corn syrup, zero-calorie sweetners, etc, etc. How many trillions of dollars does the medical-industrial complex generate?
I’m contemplating using some form of marijuana for medicinal benefits.
How many of you know someone who does and what is your experience with the pros vs cons?
I had a liver transplant with complications and need pain meds every day.
Constant usage causes it’s own set of issues so I’m looking for alternative
options.
Should just be free range to do as you please, like growing tomatoes in your garden. Its a plant and has been here for as long as we can tell. Its popular and like anything trashballs want to exploit it for money…whatever. Alcohol and opioids are far worse and its practically being handed out. Does that study mention deaths associated to marijuana vs presciption drugs and alcohol?
Look at legal gummies like Delta 8 and similar. No THC and Federally OK
My wife uses 1/2 of one at night for her RA .
It helps her sleep through night , she absolutely is sold that they help
Yes sir that’s what I keep hearing and reading. Thanks for letting me know.
RA is no joke I wish your wife only the best. Carpal tunnel in both hands is bad enough.
Long term pain pills have a lot of adverse side effects. At least I have with my liver transplant and other ailments.
