Thank you!
It’s just a rattle can job. I used a combo. Basecoat Krylon Fusion Textured Sandstone and then topped it off with the Krylon Khaki from their camo colors. You don’t have to add the textured coat, I just like the extra grip it provides. It also seems to add some durability as well.
The grip is a Talon grip. Their moss color. I just wish they had precut pads for the thumb spot.
See my notes back up around post 46 and following in this thread (Micro Dagger - Tech Talk - #46 by LinuxJack). Mine did the same thing. I resolved mine by some redneck gunsmithing (which I am not recommending, to be clear).
I flattened off and polished my striker and cruciform and it removed most of the creep i was experiencing. I just used a fine arkansas stone and a strop with green compound. There is still a tiny bit of creep after the wall but it’s not too bad.
Anyone having issues with the trigger pin walking out after upgrading/swapping the stock trigger? Put 250 rounds today through it with a tactical pontoon trigger and noticed this. It was also happening with dry firing. Zero issues prior to changing the trigger.
It’s possible the holes in the trigger are out of spec. Does it start walking completely out? They do move a little bit but should stop.
There a noticeable click as you slide the trigger pin into place, when the slide lock pops into the notch?
i’m not aware of any of the micros having trigger pin walk, however if you are after swapping out the trigger make sure you put the factory trigger pin back in the way it came out, so you get everything lined up and installed correctly.
Anyone else having an issue with the mag release? Seems like the retaining tab is too thin on mine and is allowing the button to slip onto the frame. I got my frame in one of the first few batch releases (12/15/23) if it matters.
I can tell that’s not fitting right, cause the right side is recessed and the button on the left side is pressing against the grip itself. You couldn’t even push the release in with it like that.
That’s the factory mag release? There shouldn’t be a tab on them at all, just a track/notch that the mag release spring slips into. It is all the way in right? On all the Glocks I’ve messed with I can only move the mag releases like that if the spring isn’t in the track. But if it wasn’t you wouldn’t be able to insert a mag at all, or have one stay in.
I don’t have my Gen5 gun on hand (for now) to confirm what the Gen5/slimline gun’s mag releases should look like. But judging by pics I’ve seen, that spot on your mag release doesn’t really look bad to me. I’ve done more damage to mine stippling and dremeling the frame before.
There should be a flat spot in line with the bottom of the right side hole there, that a flat spot on the mag release itself should align against. On the left hand/button side, you see that same flat spot on the top for flipping the mag catch side. Take it out and see if both sides are the same. Could also try reversing the mag catch entirely to see if it’s the frame or not.
Picked up a Dagger Micro a month or two ago. Really like the firearm. Saw a few posts about upgrading the trigger, so I bought the G43X trigger housing and the Apex polymer trigger shoe that most recommended. Very careful with the install, but I’m having one issue, when I carry with the gun loaded and try to clear the live round, normally I could just pull the slide back and dump out the round, but after the trigger install the slide gets caught when I pull it back and I have to pull pretty hard to get it to dislodge so I can clear the round. Any ideas what would cause it to catch? The slide moves fine without a round in the gun. Appreciate any help!
I had the same issue with the stock trigger. It looks like when trying to eject the nose of the bullet hits the barrel hood and it gets stuck. What I do is drop the mag, slowly bring the slide back and once it binds up I “wiggle” the slide back and forth till the round falls out.
Just curious if anyone has noticed this on their micros. After the slide cycles and resets the trigger the slide is set back about 1/32 rearward if the trigger is held to the rear. And before anyone says it’s because of the aftermarket trigger, I put the factory back in and it does the same thing.
When I look through the backplate I see the striker hit the rear plate when the slide moves so my guess is either out of spec backplate, or out of spec slide since both striker and trigger group were changed and it still happens. I didn’t have any issues when I shot it stock so I’m not too worried about it.
