Will Glock slim frame sights fit a Micro slide ?
Thanks
43x/48 sights
Very good! Thanks guys.
Building a Micro for carry and want to swap sights.
In the Micro Dagger Tech Talk Thread if you scroll about 20 days back in the posts LinuxJack gives (me) a very thorough lesson on Glock sights, the differences between models, sizing, and what will fit. Lot of very useful information in there.
The TLDR on the thread is all Glock model sights will fit(At least the 9mm ones but I am pretty sure I read even the larger cal ones fit too). The difference in them is the heights/point of impact for the different models. Different barrel lengths and calibers change that.
The thread is worth a look even with the summary here.
Yes Sir! I installed Ameriglo Protector Sight Set for Glock 42,43,43X,48. I put these on all my Glock/Glock style shooters and couldn’t be happier with a sight set. They install very easily, and even include the tool for the front sight annnnnd some blue loctite! As for sights for the PSA Micro, as long as you buy whatever brand and it’s stated it’s for "Slimline Glock and or Slimline Glock Style including: 42/43/43x/48 you’ll be just fine.
I won’t re-hash the entirety of the long winded bits in the Tech Talk thread, but short version - OEM Micro Dagger sights are 100% identical to OEM Compact and Full Size S sights. The rear of the Micro slide is contoured different than a 43x/43/48, such that it will take a wider rear sight, same as goes on a G19/G20/G-anything.
That means basically any Glock set will fit (including those for the 43/43x/48). A set for a 9mm/G19/G17/etc Glock (eg: TruGlo “low” set) will have (on a 43 length slide) a point of impact about 3 in lower at 25 yards that OEM. A TruGlo “high” set (eg: the one for the G20 and friends) should be identical to OEM Micro sights.
Realistically, 3 in higher or lower at 25 yards is not enough difference for most of us to even notice. And on a 48 or Micro X1 slide, the difference would be even less.
Same as with a MOS Glock, some sights are designed such that the rear sight will overhang either too far to the rear or front, so watch out for that - but that’s true for ANY optic-ready pistol, nothing unique about the Micro in this regard.
